Today marks 139 years of United Way.

What began as a community-led idea has grown into a global network built on a simple belief: we can do more together than any one person or organization can do alone.

This #FoundingDay, we’re looking back with gratitude and looking ahead with purpose.

A few missed beats, a little practice, and our #211Summit drum circle found its rhythm.

No one had to get it right alone. They just had to listen, adjust and find their rhythm together.

When wildfires tore through Payne County in March 2025, families in Stillwater lost more than houses. They lost keepsakes, routines, and the sense of safety that home is supposed to hold.

In the days that followed, United Way of Payne County helped turn a community center into a relief hub. Families found diapers, bottled water, hygiene supplies, and something just as important: each other.

In the middle of loss, the community found a place to gather, support one another, and begin again.
