Nylig var LOs faglige ungdomssekretær i Buskerud, Savannah, på erfaringsutveksling i Newcastle, Storbritannia, sammen med representanter fra norsk og britisk fagbevegelse. 🇳🇴🇬🇧

Selv om det er betydelige forskjeller mellom norsk og britisk fagbevegelse, har vi mye å lære av hverandres erfaringer, utfordringer og måter å organisere arbeidslivet på. Internasjonalt samarbeid og erfaringsutveksling er viktig for å styrke fagbevegelsen på tvers av landegrenser.

Under oppholdet besøkte gruppen blant annet Nissans bilfabrikk utenfor Newcastle, som sysselsetter flere tusen arbeidstakere, og det historiske gruvearbeiderparlamentet Redhills, som har spilt en sentral rolle i den britiske fagbevegelsens historie.

Besøkene ga verdifull innsikt i både dagens arbeidsliv og den historiske kampen for arbeidstakernes rettigheter i Storbritannia.✊

Brilliant afternoon marking a decade of the TUC Asbestos Support and Campaign Group.

We are so proud of what this partnership has achieved. But our goal has never been to celebrate the number of people needing support. Our ambition is a future where no worker faces an asbestos-related disease because of their job.

Until then though, we will continue to stand alongside workers and their families, fighting for the justice, support and recognition they deserve.

🎉We officially completed #5marathons5days for Mental Health, Solidarity and Justice, July 28th-August 1st 2026! People and community power held us through this incredible experience, traversing over 4 Ben Nevis' in height 🥾💫 Every step was resistance against the system that killed our late friend and comrade Dr Pious Nyandoro, who's anniversary nears. Rest in Power, 15/3/77~10/8/2025

🫂Thank you to every single person, organisation, venue and business who has donated and made this challenge possible. With your generosity, encouragement, logistical support and care, we were able to cross the finish line for our finale community meal at @sheffieldcityofsanctuary

🐕30 people and 2 dogs joined us to walk over a staggering 584.26 miles in solidarity with freedom seekers and the impact of the migration system on mental health, supported by 24 organisations. We shared Pious' story and those like him, raising awareness of the intentional cruelty of policies that harm migrants and confronted misinformation and propaganda against our migrant communities

🔗We are so close to our fundraising target, with an incredible nearly £9000 donated so far. Every share or donation no matter how small will help us smash our target, to help recover the community funds used for Pious' repatriation and funeral costs, commission a mural in his memory and support VVIDY, an organisation he co-founded. This challenge tested out physical and mental limits, but we walked for Pious, system change and hope👣follow to continue this journey for justice with us

A few of our members have been involved in organising a collective fight back to the EHRC guidance that comes into effect on the 5th of August. This guidance is an attack on bodily autonomy and the trans community to say that you are only allowed to access gendered facilities on the basis of the sex you were assigned at birth. WAFR Leeds will be present to say no!

Join Women Against the Far Right in a counter protest against "Churchill Angels", "Pink Ladies" and "5 Towns Migrant Watch".

These groups are spreading the racist and misogynistic rhetoric that women need to be "protected" from migrants.

Let's show them Wakefield is anti-racist!! Let's show them that refugees are welcome in Yorkshire.

Day 1 ~ 5 Marathons in 5 Days for Mental Health, Solidarity and Justice 🥾 Yesterday, 27.36 miles in the bag

What an incredible start to our fundraising challenge 👣every step has been for Pious, and every other individual who has lost their life because of the impact of migration policies

We cannot thank everyone for the support, donations, shares, love....our community is made this challenge a possibility. We are deeply grateful
