Unity in Coventry, providing inclusive spaces, events and support for our LGBTQ+ community, allies and more 🏳️‍🌈

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last night at @theyardcoventry , we sat down with reps from @westmidlandspolice, Remedi, @sempersecurityservices @unityincov and Coventry Pride for a powerful, honest and genuinely collaborative conversation about Hate Crime Awareness Week.

Together, we explored what a hate crime is, how people can report it safely, and how we can strengthen the way we communicate after a report is made — making sure people feel informed, supported and never left in the dark.

🎙️ We recorded the whole discussion as a podcast episode, coming very soon.

It’s all about partnership, clarity and making Coventry a safer, more confident place for everyone.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us — community change happens when we show up together.

Last night we launched a series of events for Hate Crime Awareness Week. We wanted to tell the stories of those who have been victims of crime and create a safe space for people to share their experiences, but also, explore how we can work together to tackle it.

Thanks to the wonderful @outincov choir who kicked us off (and who have provided the audio for this reel) and to @theyardcoventry who are hosting the (very homemade arts and crafts style) display.

We’d love to invite you all to come and share your stories and read others all week. We’ll be back on Wednesday, where we will be recording a podcast about the week.

And this is how we set the stage on fire! 🔥 Watch until the end—we perform three songs together! 🎤🎶

A big thank you to our talented @victorchats, Victor, for bringing such a wonderful group together.

It was an honour to stand together at the open mic at The Yard, alongside Unity in Coventry, and share our pride with everyone.

Thank you so much to @pridecov and @unityincov for organising this fantastic event. And a warm welcome to our Out in Cov family! ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Our family took to the stage at the Hate Crime Open Mic on 12 October 2026, organised by Coventry Pride and Unity at the Yard.

Special thanks to our music lead, our talented Victor 🎵

We sang together to celebrate our dignity and unity, and to show that we stand up for and support one another. 🎤❤️🏳️‍🌈

🩵🚨 CANNOT BELIEVE WE MADE THIS HAPPEN!!!! 🚨🩵

Some of the CCFCher players went and got dressed up in Cher outfits for this very special photo-shoot. ⚽️👠✨ Like them - you could spend this month as CHER. 💃🏻

It’s silly. 🤪
It’s completely free. 🆓
It’s a chance to push yourself out of your comfort zones. 💪✨
It’s a chance to dress up (with our costumers support to make you feel ridiculously fabulous). 👗🕶️💄
It’s just two rehearsals and a show day with a full company around you for support. 🩵

Be a part of it. 🙌
Be Cher. 💃🏻 (bio link - right at the top of our linktree)

🩵⚽️ CHER BLUE ARMY!!! ⚽️🩵

While the boss @tombarnwell is off on his hollibobs the choir decided a few drinks food and conversation was a worthy substitute for their weekly rehearsals.
We sang our hearts out while being entertained by @missbellaend what a treat for a thursday night.
Choir for us is not just about getting together and sing it is so much more.
It is friendship, connection, it is community and choosen family.
From next week we will be back together celebrating our first birthday and preparing for a very busy few months ahead.

This is going to be an unapologetic gush post.
@unityincov today we pulled an epic shift @warwickshirepride before much needed down time and food @fizzymoonleam before popping into bar 15 Leamington who have and continue to support us for @mamatastyuk charity dragoke. Before ending the day with @sheilacdiamond @theyardcoventry .
When we launched unity none of truly realised the impact we would have, people have found a home, they are finding healing, confidence, and strength they never thought they would regain.
It is truely so special to see connections grow in to deep friendships and regain family they choose.
Each and everyone of us celebrate successes, and hold our hands of support when the tough time come around.
I want to thank team unity for opening their hearts and welcoming people in with no judgment but a safe space to be who they were always destined to be.
This is rare and I for one is humbled by them every moment of every day

"We Never Put the Curtains Up"

Every conversation starts somewhere.

In the first episode of the TrustTalk Podcast, hosts Rob Darling and Gemma Hathaway sit down with Richard Easter, owner of @theyardcoventry, to explore what it really means to create spaces where people feel seen, safe and able to be themselves.

In this clip, Richard shares the story behind one simple decision that became a powerful symbol of openness, belonging and inclusion.

United By Love 2026!

Me and my awesome community had THE best time at the @unityincov United by Love event!

Never in a million years did I think my name would be on a poster alongside the Cheeky Girls but that’s how crazy life is!

It’s always such a buzz being on stage but seeing members of my classes step out of their comfort zone and take to the stage fills me with so much pride!

Our classes aren’t elitist, about being the best dancer or showing off. They’re about having a laugh, supporting one another and lifting each other up.

I am so proud that we have created such a safe space for LGBTQ+ people to take care of their fitness and wellbeing!

Here’s to the next one!

Xx
