Did someone say a family cabin?! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒😍🏠

Perfect for couples or a small family, Baxter is newest cabin that can sleep 2 adults and 2 children in the small single bunkbeds. So you can bring the little ones along for a much-needed iPad break. Located in Flintshire, North Wales, Baxter is the perfect to disconnect and reconnect as a family.

If you don’t have little ones in tow, you have extra space in the cabin and a spark a bitta nostalgia reading in a top or bottom bunk.

More than 1 in 4 people say they’re worried their screen time is hurting their connection to the physical world. And there’s a growing body of research behind what we already intuitively know: getting out into the real world is good for us.

As little as 20–30 minutes spent in nature has been shown to lower cortisol, while time outdoors can help restore attention and support working memory and cognitive flexibility. And when we’re fully absorbed in what we’re doing — moving, making, exploring, listening, playing — we create the conditions to get out of our heads and into a flow state.

In other words: being present is good for our brains and bodies. Swipe to meet four experience creators on Easol building businesses for exactly that →

Welcome to The Experience Edit, our take on the trends, ideas, and shifts shaping the experience industry

Digital detox cabins built for life offline. @unplugged.rest has grown from six cabins to locations across the UK, giving city dwellers a 3- or 4-night reset in nature. Guests lock their phones away and swap screens for an Instax camera, books, board games and conversation cards — everything you need to properly switch off and slow down.

Women’s surf retreats built around adventure, community and connection. @aweekawake brings women together at surf spots around the world to surf, explore and step outside their everyday routines, creating space to reconnect with the ocean, themselves and each other. More than a surf trip, each experience is rooted in local culture and designed so guests return home rejuvenated, inspired and part of a global community of “Seasters.”

@lovetrailsfestival started as a gathering of 40 friends and has grown into a 5,000-person celebration of running and music, with its most recent Croatia festival selling out. From guided runs and sea swims to live music, DJs and even races where the clock literally stops so you can enjoy the experience, the festival is about swapping screens for sunsets and rediscovering the lost arts of movement, adventure and being together.

Here's where to go when you really want to get away from it all, including your phone.

We stayed at @unplugged.rest’s Basil cabin in West Sussex, around 90 minutes from London, for a few days of proper time offline.

The cabin is designed for a digital detox, with your phone locked away while you settle into countryside life. We spent the time exploring the area, from a wine flight at @kinsbrookvineyard to coffee at @kneppwildingkitchen .

For a countryside reset without having to travel too far, this is one to keep in mind.

The first thing you do at @unplugged.rest is lock your phone in a box.

I find this one so simple, and a little radical. Two founders who burned out in tech built off-grid cabins around one idea: give you your time back. No wifi, no feed, no email. They hand you a Nokia for emergencies, an instant camera, books, and three nights that are completely yours.

And the whole stay is built to look after you while you switch off. People leave saying they finally slept, read a whole book, had a real conversation.

This is solitude, actively hosted. A place that gives you your time back.

… No Service. 📵

I’m currently away in one of the @unplugged.rest cabins, for a little bit of a break.

Yesterday we climbed Mount Snowdon, which was such an amazing experience, especially being my first mountain climbed, but now I can’t feel my legs, so maybe it wasn’t the best decision 😅

And for the rest of the trip, we have a couple more places to visit and of course, just try and switch off for a little bit, which is easier said than done when you bring a camera with you 📸

But I’m looking forward to coming back home feeling hopefully, a little bit more refreshed.
