1,200+ people in one place, over $250,000 raised for Gaza.
Highlights from the Dallas Gaza 5K on Saturday, May 16 ❤️

Over 1,200 Americans came together that day—for Gaza, for Palestinian children who deserve a brighter future than the present they’ve known, for a shared belief in our collective humanity.

The Dallas community raised more than $250,000 to support UNRWA mental health counselors in Gaza who are providing trauma-informed care, psychological first aid, and psychosocial support to Palestinian children in Gaza who have lived through over two years of what experts call a genocide.

To date, UNRWA staff have provided psychosocial support to over 70% of children in Gaza. Despite constant attacks on UNRWA staff and on every aspect of life in Gaza, UNRWA continues to deliver essential services with the utmost level of care, dignity, and professionalism. Every action taken and every dollar raised at the grassroots level in the U.S. is transformational and a testament to the fact that we have the power to make a difference for Palestine refugees even from hundreds of miles away.

Today is also World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, and it’s not lost on us how the blend of cultures, languages, and various walks of life all came together so beautifully this past Saturday. The Dallas Gaza 5K was a moving display of what’s possible when we celebrate the diversity in each other and the brighter world we can build together.

From Gaza to Dallas, community is what carries people through. Our solidarity across cultures and borders remains as important as ever.

Thank you to everyone who ran, walked, donated, volunteered and showed up for Palestine refugees this week.

Dallas, thank you for heeding our call. Thank you for moving for Gaza.

Finally, we’d like to send sincere gratitude to every individual who volunteered their time and talents to capture this event.

With great thanks to:

Healthcare Workers for Palestine running the @unrwa / @unrwausa 5k today! These energetic runners and healthcare workers raised $55,000+ in about a month for the much needed agency that provides relief and support for Palestinians. The defunding of UNRWA after unsubstantiated accusations is a moral crime, and we are all doing our part to try and keep UNRWA operations sustainable. Thank you to these amazing healthcare workers for their dedication, fundraising skills, and solidarity with Palestine!
