From Seestar to a full astrophotography rig "After starting this hobby nearly two years ago with a Seestar S50 I fell in love with the night sky and sharing it with others. The Seestar was so much fun and easy to use. I eventually stumbled upon the Seestar Facebook page and was blown away with what people were doing with editing their images. I got really into it with first learning Siril then PixInsight. One day a good friend introduced me into processing space telescope data like from the James Webb. Then I started editing data from remote telescopes of different kinds. After seeing the kind of quality you could get with amateur equipment I knew I had to build my own rig one day. At last that time has come! I will still continue to use my Seestars as they are so easy to grab and go. Finally sorry for all the clouds this will bring 😆" Take a look at what Jason has already captured with his ZWO setup. 📸 Credit: Jason Marriott @unsolicitedspacepix #ZWO #Seestar

✨ Cave Diving in Cepheus ✨ Today’s featured image comes from astrophotographer Jason Marriott, taking us on a journey to the always-stunning Cave Nebula. A rich blend of hydrogen emission, reflection nebulae, and dark dust lanes makes this one of the most dynamic and colorful targets in the northern sky. Jason used the beloved Sky-Watcher Esprit telescope series to capture this scene in just over 18 hours of integration time. The sharp stars and intricate detail are a reminder of what patience, precision, and dark skies can reveal. Follow @unsolicitedspacepix to see what else Jason’s telescopes are uncovering. 👀 As we roll through summer in the north, the nebulae are dominating much of the night sky. Which targets are top of your list this summer? _____________ 🔭 @skywatcherusa Esprit 100 f/5 Refractor 📷 @qhyccd_astrophotography 268M, OGMA AP26MC 🎨 Antlia LRGB & Ha filters

NGC 2170: The Angel Nebula Image Credit & Copyright: Jason Marriott @unsolicitedspacepix Explanation: Is this a painting or a photograph? In this celestial abstract art composed with a cosmic brush, dusty nebula NGC 2170, also known as the Angel Nebula, shines just above the image center. Reflecting the light of nearby hot stars, NGC 2170 is joined by other bluish reflection nebulae, a red emission region, many dark absorption nebulae, and a backdrop of colorful stars. Like the common household items that abstract painters often choose for their subjects, the clouds of gas, dust, and hot stars featured here are also commonly found in a setting like this one — a massive, star-forming molecular cloud in the constellation of the Unicorn (Monoceros). The giant molecular cloud Mon R2, is impressively close, estimated to be only 2,400 light-years or so away. At that distance, this canvas would be over 60 light-years across.

Did anyone catch C/2025 R3 PanSTARRS yet? 🌠 Had a super tight window, so it was a 3am drive out to Bortle 4 skies—glad the forecast didn’t lie 😁 Seestar S30 Pro (EQ mode) Sky: 17×30s Foreground: single shot (scenery mode) Processed in PixInsight + Photoshop, added a few spikes for style. (Full disclosure this foreground while in the right direction doesn't represent the actual foreground at time of capture. I had intended to shoot it but it didn't work out.)
