POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

“Káre Bàmi” was recorded in August last year at the Upper Ruum Transitioning Studio in Abule Egba, Lagos. The record was produced, mixed, and mastered by Givens Igunbor—the same producer behind all the tracks on my debut project, Lágijù.

“Káre Bàmi” is the second single from my forthcoming EP, following the release of “Jagun.” While I am still working on the project, Lágijù II will differ significantly from its predecessor. This time, I am incorporating more live instrumentation, including bass guitar, omele, talking drum, and shekere, to create a richer, warmer, and more organic sound.

My deepest appreciation goes to the incredible musicians who contributed their talent to this record. I am grateful to every one of you for helping bring this vision to life. Special thanks to the team at Upper Ruum Studio @upparuumstudios for their unwavering belief in my music and for offering me an incredibly generous discount during the recording process. I am equally indebted to my friend and brother, Femigangan, who travelled all the way from Ibadan to lend his exceptional gift on African percussion instruments to the song. Your support and contributions mean more to me than words can express.

Last Saturday, we had a truly beautiful experience learning about storytelling, cinematography, and lighting. I am grateful to my local church, CCI (Celebration Church International) Egbeda Campus @cci__egbeda for providing the opportunity to engage with these amazing minds. The class was very interactive and hands-on. I have always believed that filmmaking is about discovering more authentic ways to tell compelling stories. To be authentic, we must first master the art and technique of filmmaking, allowing us to share our stories freely because we now understand the "why" behind them.

I also want to express my gratitude for the support of @upparuumstudios; we truly have the best team.

Your camera does not build a connection, you do!
Put your camera down.
In this video, I am sharing from real-life experiences as a documentary filmmaker. I have learned that people mostly show you their true selves when you show them that you are genuinely interested in them. To achieve this, first put down your camera and engage in a conversation with them. Be interested, practise active listening and when you turn on the camera you'll have an authentic story. #documentaryfilmmaking #everycreativecanrelate #upparuumpictures

🚨Big News Fam!🚨

A couple of tracks from my Lágijù EP have just been featured as part of the official soundtracks for the new Nollywood movie “Èwọ̀” 🎬✨—and I can’t even begin to explain how surreal this moment feels! Being part of a production of this magnitude, one that features both Nollywood veterans and other household names, is a huge honor. Massive thanks to the visionary director Ekene Som Mekwunye @ekenemekwunye , Fulfilment Fuchi Nwaturuocha @fuchi_wattz and the amazing Riverside Productions’ team @riversideproductionsng for believing in my sound and giving my music this incredible platform. You didn’t just listen—you heard me, and I’m deeply grateful. 🙏🏾

This is undoubtedly a major career leap for me. Having my songs woven into the emotional and cultural fabric of a film like Èwọ̀ means my message now travels farther—to new ears and new hearts. I must also give a heartfelt shoutout to my friend-turned-brother and constant pillar, Olatomiwa Babalola @olatomiwatobi —thank you for believing in my gift. And of course, a salute to my music producer, Givens Igunbor @givnsmusic and the creative director of Lágijù, GAMiE @itsgamie (Uppa Ruum Studios @upparuumstudios ) for breathing life into these songs with so much depth and intention. This is teamwork and a shared glory!

Finally, to my man, Mr Awele @mr_awele , I really thank you. This won’t have happened without your kind recommendation. I truly appreciate you. This is not just a win for me, but for every creative who dares to dream in their own language.

NB: If you’re a filmmaker, documentary producer, or storyteller looking for authentic, soulful, and culturally rooted music—I’m open and ready to collaborate. Let’s tell the stories that matter, together. 🎥🎶
Èwọ̀ hit the cinema on the 18th of July, 2025. Save the date!

Moríre is a song that talks about God’s guidance in the journey of life, strength in hard times and prayers for a better life. This second track from Lágijù is more than just music; it’s a heartfelt prayer for guidance when the road is unclear and life feels overwhelming. It’s a cry for strength in the middle of life’s storms, but it’s also an affirmation—a declaration that no matter how tough things get, we will see the goodness of God shine through. In every season of doubt and fear, Moríre is a reminder that faith and perseverance will lead us to moments of grace and clarity.

I'm thrilled to announce that I will soon be releasing my debut album, Lágijù, which translates to "In the Wilderness." This 5-track EP is the culmination of two years of dedication, effort, and collaboration with Uppa Ruum Studios and the facilitation of my friend and brother, @olatomiwatobi . It’s deeply personal and inspired by my own days of struggle, yet it speaks to a universal theme of hope, faith, and perseverance in the face of adversity.

Through each track, I sought to capture the inner turmoil and resilience that many Africans experience, while also conveying a message and rhythms that can resonate globally. Lágijù is more than a timeless masterpiece; it’s a prayer for a better tomorrow, a testament to survival, and a celebration of the strength it takes to push forward, no matter how tough the journey.

With the release of this album, I also introduce my new stage name, B.R. Olórin—Baba Rhaimoh Olórin—a name that truly represents my art. Many of you know me as Dr Rhymes, but this transition feels right as I step into this new chapter of my career. The name change reflects my growth and deeper connection to my creative identity, and I believe it embodies the soul of the music I am sharing with you all.
