I returned to the Al Jabal Al Akhdar mountains in Oman this week having visited only a few months ago… and all I can say is it simply becomes more breathtakingly beautiful the more times you visit. I was staying @anantarajabalakhdar, a stunning resort (that’s been awarded Minor Hotel’s most sustainable destination in the past), for their annual olive harvest… and what an experience. From olive picking competitions (ahem, yes @upsideofliving and I won 🥇 We picked 17kgs of olives in 30 mins!) and olive oil tastings, to visiting a nearby distillery where farmers brought their harvested fruits for pressing, to culinary creations using the finest oils and finally, a talk by Dr Ali Al Furqani. This gentleman is the passionate horticulturist behind Oman’s olive revolution. For 13 years, he has been unlocking the secrets of olive cultivation in Al Jabal Al Akhdar’s mountains, discovering that the conditions at 2,000 metres above sea level actually create some of the world’s finest olive oils. It was a fleeting two days that taught me so much, and I am really looking forward to writing this feature for @ethicalistmag 🫒

So today I turn 47 -eeek. But looking back at my last year, I have to say it was full of ups and downs, and twists and turns. I learned a lot, cried a little (yeah, running @ethicalistmag is a little stressful at times), but by the looks of things, laughed a lot!! Thank you to all the special people who bring so much joy to my life. So many fun times 🥰 💃🏻 🍷 looking forward to so many more over the next 12 months 😘

How to Help Displaced Palestinians in Egypt

Having just returned from Egypt a few weeks ago, @tintinsgram and I volunteered for 3 fabulous organizations @egyptians_for_palestinians @networkforpalestine amd @tft.initiative . We call ourselves the Keffiyeh Delegation with an aim to bridge the humanitarian gap between Dubai and Egypt serving displaced Palestinians.

We were thrown in the deep end, made mistakes along the way, but most of all were able to help 10 recently displaced Palestinian families that need ongoing support.

We need your HELP to support them and many others like them who are on our waiting list.

We’ve put this workshop together for you so you can understand the needs, what’s really happening on the ground firsthand, and most of all see how YOU can support.

A very disturbing pattern of more women and children being allowed to cross the border from Rafah into Egypt than men.

We noticed so many women and once we talked to them discovered that 80 % of them had husbands, elder sons, and brothers who were left behind in Gaza

Imagine being 1 year old little girl and losing your mother and 7 siblings, your father being the only surviving member in your immediate family unit. You sustain an injury from the same blast that kills your family and shatters your knee cap rendering you unable to walk and in severe physical and psychological pain, and they WONT LET YOuR FATHER accompany you?

What kind of messed up psychotic human do you have to be to not get angry at the thought of this?

Please get angry. Get upset. Because I met this little girl and the look in her eyes was one of terror and of someone who no longer trusts this world.

And who can blame her??

This is a pattern people!! A deliberate act to weaken the family unit as one more Zionist tactic to ethnically cleanse and steal the land.

Ask yourself why this is happening. Question everything.

Emilio loves singing! This is not a surprise, since children with Down Syndrome are particularly passionate about music.
Music makes speech therapy sessions much more fun and engaging for all kids and it would not be different for kids with Down Syndrome. It can be effective to develop pre-linguistic skills like eye contact, copying, joint and auditory attention as well as sequencing skills. Emilio Visited Jungle Gymsters today. We enjoyed having him. He is really clever Boy, he loves dancing and making funny jokes as he pretended that the equipment is too heavy to be carried 🥰
While He was enjoying the parachute dancing he was developing skills like balancing and gross motor skills 💪🏻 EXCELLENT Job dearest Emilio 😻 We are so Proud of you such a smart boy may God bless you🙏🏻
