Well, I deigned to attend my first ever dog show today at @upwey_house . 👑🐾

Aunty C entered me into THREE classes. Three. I wore flowers. I wore a sparkly dress. I literally dressed as royalty.

And what did I win?

NOTHING. 😠

Apparently the judges decided to give the prizes to some other, frankly inferior, pups. I can only assume there has been some sort of administrative error.

I graciously accepted an ice cream as compensation and will now be retiring from public life until the judging standards improve.

Robbed. Absolutely robbed.

Love,
Lola 👑🐷🐾

A love letter to S + A. 🤍

On the 17th March, we met virtually for the first time.

Four months later, I stood at the back of your ceremony and watched the two of you get married.

Not to the wedding I had planned.

Not to the wedding anyone else had imagined.

To your wedding.

Every detail felt like a reflection of the two of you.

From the Sunday roast, to the handmade VHS place names, to Zanu proudly carrying the rings, nothing was there because it was a trend. It was there because it meant something.

My job was never to change your ideas.

It was to take everything you'd already dreamed up, hold all the moving parts, and quietly make sure it happened exactly as you'd imagined.

So while you were laughing with your favourite people, soaking up every moment and looking at each other with so much love...

...I was exactly where I wanted to be.

In the background.

Making sure the only thing you had to think about was each other.

Thank you for trusting me with such an important chapter of your story.

It was an absolute privilege.

One of my all time favourite drinks receptions 🥂
I loved this wedding so much that I had to share it again 🤍

Everything about this part of the day just worked so well. It felt relaxed, fun and genuinely guest focused, whilst still having so much thought put into every little detail.

From the receiving line as guests entered the drinks reception (which made for the BEST candid moments 🥹), to cocktails flowing, incredible food, garden games, Polaroids, outdoor seating and the cutest DIY photo booth setup with all their favourite things.

It gave everyone space to properly mingle, relax and enjoy the day, and honestly created such a lovely atmosphere from start to finish ☀️

A reminder that your drinks reception does not have to just be “the bit between the ceremony and wedding breakfast”. It can become such a memorable part of the day in itself 🤍

10 things we can’t wait for this season ✨

1. Kicking off post ceremony celebrations with canapés and your favourite people - a personal private couples canapé moment is a must here at Fossil and always a special time

2. Service that is equally matched to our food. Our main objective is our couples and their guests feel truly taken care of all day into the night long. It really gives us such a buzz

3. Large pav moments - so many of these to come. Roll on the icing sugar ‘first cut’

4. Visiting beautiful locations scattered all over the South West. We love the challenge of cooking anywhere - anything is possible with the correct planning and a dedicated team

5. Pretty plates with high quality local produce

6. And abundant sharing feasts packed with variety and flavour

7. Delivering on detail we have spent many months often over a year of planning with our couples. Witnessing their visions of considered planning come to life is a privilege we don’t take for granted

8. Beautiful tablescapes and collaborating with talented suppliers

9. The buzz of the kitchen with Steve and the chefs working hard. Service is always smooth and on time with these amazing bunch

10. Reunited with the Fossil family who collectively adore weddings as much as us. We work hard and love each others company

Living in Dorset, we are blessed with so many beautiful venues! I loved Sophie's morning at @upwey_house. One of the best parts of my job is visiting new places every year and I've got some new places this season that I can't wait to work at! I'm so grateful for all the enquiries I've had coming in recently but unfortunately with many weekends already booked for this year I've had to turn away lots of Brides so if you see what you like and you like what I do, please don't delay in booking 🤍
