Flock 3 (10 out of 30) hatched and is splendid. We are still debating hatching new chicks versus buying them.
With hatching we have to raise and feed them for 6 months with no egg production, which ultimately increases cost per egg.
With buying pullets, we start getting eggs in 2 months.
We are still running the numbers.
Stay tuned for more chicken news!

Hail UGW and Cerasee Farm supporters! We are looking to create some real kool Merch i.e., t-shirts, tote bags, etc..and need some original ideas. See attached mock up.
So we decided to reach out to our Community for ideas and suggestions, as we are built by the Community we serve. The ones we choose will obviously get a set of Merch plus for the efforts.
Send any suggestions to ceraseefarm305@gmail.com

🍂🌿 AUTUMN EQUINOX x FIND YOUR RIMIDI at CERASEE FARM! 🌻✨

What a beautiful experience it was to come together as a community, reconnect with nature, and get back in tune with our roots & true selves! 🌱💚

This special event celebrated the Autumn Equinox, reminding us of the importance of nourishing our bodies with seasonal fruits and vegetables that help us feel balanced, energized, and whole as we transition into a new season. 🍎🥬🍠

In partnership with FIND YOUR RIMIDI, we explored the importance of creating healthy routines, reconnecting with ourselves, and building a lifestyle that supports our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. 🌸🧘🏽‍♀️ @iamrimidi

We were also honored to have Baba Peterson bless us with his presence and share his wisdom, reminding us of the power of nature, community, and staying connected to our roots. 🙏🏽🌍 @babalivingearthfoods

From the children enjoying the farm to the families, community members, and beautiful live music filling the space, the day was full of positive energy, learning, laughter, and togetherness. 🎶🌿

A special shoutout to the band for bringing amazing music and energy to the farm! 🎤🥁💚 @aaronmarcuspayne

At Cerasee Urban Community Farm, we believe that wellness goes beyond what we eat. It’s about nurturing our minds, bodies, spirits, and the connections we share with one another. 🌻 @urbangreenworks

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this gathering so meaningful. Here’s to embracing the new season with intention, balance, growth, and community! 🍂✨

When we nourish ourselves, we nourish our community. 💚🌱

Our October volunteer work day at Cerasee is coming up and there's a lot to do! Urban Greenworks is getting ready to plant & we are weeding the bee yard! (Protective gear provided).

@perfectpetitesessentials will be on site that day - come say hi, connect, learn, weed, work, get yr hands dirty & support this beautiful community farm!!

* NOTE: excessive heat season is still going strong, through at least the end of the month! Prepare accordingly, bring lots of water, and take breaks in the shade when you can!

Real farmers Farm! If you ask a farmer what this guy is doing and he/she doesn't give you the right answer then that's not a real farmer.
We're consulted with "organic, regenerative" farms and none of them implement these practices or teach them. That's why they source produce from other farms.
Be weary of farmers who don't farm!
Thank you to @greenthigrows for reminding us what real farmers do.

We are incubating more eggs for the Farm. Thanks to @kandahar_farms for the beautiful variety of eggs. We started with 30 (now down to 28). Let's hope that we get more hens than males this time as we used a different selection process when choosing eggs from the batch.
