We are advocating for lowering of retail taxes for cannabis retail operators who provide good quality jobs for their employees and are committed to supporting the local community by:
○ Paying their employees at least 115% of minimum wage
○ Offering the majority of workers full-time hours
○ Assuring that drivers are reimbursed appropriately for using their vehicles
○ Providing on-the-job paid training opportunities with state-certified programs to create career pathways
○ Creating an on-ramp into the industry for community members, and promote growth from within
○ Hiring at least 40% of their employees from low-income neighborhoods in Long Beach
● The cannabis industry should be providing pathways to low-income families and those directly impacted by the war on drugs in our community, not penalizing those communities. Our proposal requires removing the current requirements that make it impossible for individuals with drug convictions in the preceding four years to work in the industry. Core Movement will stand in solidarity with union @ufcw324 and their members as we fight for equality, justice, living wages, and improved quality of live for communities.

We did it 😁🫂 ❤️ our 2nd Annual Skid Row Hygiene and Resource Giveaway was a success 🙌🏾

13 people and organizations helped to provide donations, distribute the items and pass out much needed items to those living on the streets and in SROs (single room occupancy).

We could not have done this without our village ❤️ thank you 🙏🏾 to everyone who helped out.
