LEADING STARS TIMES ISSUE 05 IS OUT!

Link in bio: https://linktr.ee/JCIleadingstars2027

Every leader makes choices. Some are visible, others happen quietly in everyday moments. Some require us to take responsibility, while others ask us to let go, trust someone else or step into something unfamiliar.

But what does courage really look like in leadership?

Is it having the confidence to make difficult decisions? Trusting others even when they do things differently? Or saying yes to an opportunity before you feel completely ready?

In the fifth issue of Leading Stars Times we explore the choices that shape us as leaders and the courage it takes to make them.

Our main feature brings Iiro Ignatius’s reflections on nearly 15 years in JCI and what leadership has taught him about trust, responsibility and creating opportunities for others to succeed.

In DO IT SCARED Oskar Strand reflects on courage, stepping outside his comfort zone and daring to pursue a new leadership opportunity.

And in WHERE JCI CAN TAKE YOU, we discover how getting involved internationally can open doors to unexpected experiences, new perspectives and friendships that last a lifetime.

And there’s more!

Meet the team behind Escape Reality, hear from the Leading Stars Conference Director and discover the venues where we’ll gather in Lahti next April. Plus two new book recommendations for your leadership reading list.

Because leadership isn’t always about knowing which choice is right. Sometimes, it’s about having the courage to make one, learn from it and keep moving forward.

Read. Reflect. Take something with you.

Every star is a leader, together a constellation 💫

As the year comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on the 2025 JCI World Congress and the closure of my role as Executive Vice President. While the Congress marked the formal end of my term, it is now, at year’s end, that the journey truly feels complete.

World Congress is where leadership transitions, legacies are shaped, and our global community comes together to reaffirm why we do what we do.

My sincere thanks to the COC, led by Omar Bejaou, for navigating a challenging path with resilience and professionalism.

To the JCI Europe Team - thank you for the trust, teamwork, and shared responsibility throughout the year. Special appreciation to the European VPs - Alexandrina, Cristina, Carol, Stefanie, and Ulla - for your leadership and support, to Treasurer Tijana and EDC Chair Alexandra for your consistency and countless discussions, and to my assistant Anna and the European HQ team - Ana and Catalina - for the constant behind-the-scenes support, as well as european members of global committees for the hard work done.

Thank you to the JCI Board, Executive Committee, specially my fellow EVPs - Shenella, Mark, and Saidou, and World President Keisuke, and JCI HQ led by SG Elvin Teo, for the partnership and trust.

To all European NOs and NPs, thank you for your engagement. And especially to JCI Bulgaria, led by NP Ivona - thank you for the opportunity to represent you globally.

All the best for the 2026 officers led by WP Alejandra, and specully to 2026 JCI Europe Team led by EVP Stefanie. I am confident you will continue to lead with vision, responsibility, and heart.

Grateful for the journey.
Proud of what we achieved together.
Excited for what comes next. ✨

This year was about people who moved with grit, consistency, and belief. Because of that, Moldova made history: awards on the world stage, its first International Vice President, and by year’s end, its first Romanian-born National President. Legendary moments, built quietly, year after year.

Congratulations to NP @marina.zama , VP @barganalexandra , NP-Elect @aer.dens , the National Board, Senators, members, and all those who kept showing up. I am incredibly proud of this nation and the way it chose to build in 2025.

@jcimoldova , you didn’t just participate this year.
You made history. 💙 #jci

110 years of JCI, a new identity on the horizon, and the final General Assemblies of an era. Honoured to share this rather legendary moment alongside BOD 2025, a singular year that closes one chapter and confidently opens the next. And a quiet thank-you to #theSociety for making the backstage moments absolutely extraordinary.

@ururan & @stefanievandersman — what a journey ❤️
