Build it like Lego. Drive it like a Tesla.

What’s in my lap isn’t a toy. It’s a real electric vehicle, and students snap it together piece by piece with @infento. At their age, that’s the difference between reading about engineering and actually becoming an engineer.

Then @riders.ai takes it further. Kids code and program robots, then go compete in online competitions against students in Italy, Australia, and Japan, using nothing more than a laptop and a Wi-Fi connection.

There’s no doubt that when a kid builds the thing with their own hands, the lesson sticks in a way a worksheet never will. Pretty cool to watch it click in real time.

Follow along for what the classroom actually looks like now.

People expect me to talk curriculum when I explain @riders.ai Python, algorithms, building and designing robots. All real. None of it is the part that makes kids lean in.

The part that gets them is going head to head with students and schools in Japan, Italy and Australia. And so I started calling it what it actually is.

An educational esports league.

Esports works because kids show up for the game, and pick up strategy and leadership along the way without even noticing.

We’re running the same play. The game is just programming robots and learning real #ai skills instead.

At their age most kids get told coding is homework. We’re showing them it can feel like the thing they’d already choose to do on a Friday night.

Meet kids where their interest already lives, and the hard skills stop feeling so hard.

Following along if you want the real inside look at what building in #edtech actually looks like.

What subject would’ve hit completely different for you if it was taught like a game?

The whole world just watched the World Cup final wrap up. But the World Cup I can’t stop thinking about happened in a classroom in Little Havana.

A middle schooler here just competed in a global @riders.ai robotics finals against students from all around the world, and he did it right from his computer.

I was there for the Riders Robotics World Cup, and I asked him what he learned about himself since joining the program. He told me he learned he is capable of doing things he never thought he could do in his life.

At their age, that realization changes everything. The robot is just the vehicle. What these students are really building is the belief that they can figure hard things out.

It is pretty cool to watch a kid discover that about himself in real time.

Right now I'm laser focused on building Maximize Education.

And so the premise is simple, providing exceptional experiences to schools, for their students, teachers and administrators, through @infento electric vehicles and @riders.ai robotics.

Ultimately these kids are building life sized semi autonomous electric vehicles at their age. It's incredible how fast they take to it.

What I'm building, right from the jump. More to come.

Watching an 11-year NBA veteran get genuinely stunned by what a 7th grader built by hand is something I won’t forget.

“This blows my mind“ That was @turner_myles said, standing over an @infento electric vehicle and a @us.riders Robot with a group of Irvington middle school students who had engineered this just days earlier.

That’s Myles Turner at @irvingtonschools Middle School. There’s no doubt that he could’ve shown up, taken a few photos, and left but Instead he grabbed the tools and got into the weeds with the students on their Infento cars and Riders robots. It’s incredible how fast a room changes when someone that students look up to actually takes their work seriously.

Hands down my favorite part was watching him react to what these students built, at their age.

Then Myles sat down with the class for an interview, and he told them something a lot of you need to hear. He didn’t find “his thing” right away either.

He tried a couple of different sports paths that weren’t it before basketball became the one.

So if you’re a young person staring down that same question of what your thing is, the last clip is for you.
Ultimately this is why I do the work.

Follow along if you want to see what happens when you put the real thing in front of kids instead of a worksheet.

Know a young person who lights up building things?

Send this their way.

Big shout out to @infosys_foundation_usa for helping bring this STEM magic to life in Indiana! ⚡️🏎️🤖🦾

This student won 1st place at CodeArt. But the win isn’t what made me stop.

It’s what they built. 🤖

When students have the right tools and the right environment, what they create goes way past what anyone expects.

Year three and I’m still surprised at what these students create.

Year 1 we had an idea. Year 2 we had proof. Year 3 we have something real.

Three years of CodeArt robotics challenge. Three years of students building things they didn’t think they could build. 🤖

The goal now is to bring @riders.ai to every district that needs it.

Grateful to @codeartorg Fest for building the stage and the @udonishaslemfoundation for making it possible.

🚀 In 2023, we awarded 4 students from iTech Magnet High School the City of Miami Riders Robotics Scholarship.

✨ Two years later, they’re applying their skills to build and program semi-autonomous Infento electric vehicles!

A big thank you to MiamiEdTech and USRiders for organizing the STEM in Motion summer internship that made this possible.

Two weeks ago the “STEM in Motion” internship @miamiedtech wrapped up in partnership with @hp and @lewishamilton ‘s @mission44 organization! The 25 high school interns crushed their final presentations showing how they were able to build semi-autonomous Electric vehicles using @infento and @us.riders curriculum. Super cool to see this program come to life and couldn’t be more excited to see these students be STEM ambassadors at their @miamischools ! ⚡️🏎️🤖🦾👩‍💻🧑‍💻 #stem #electricvehicles #autonomous #robotics #ai #visualai #physicalai #digitaltwin #edtech #lewishamilton #hp

Last week I had the pleasure to interview Jean Carlos Asencio Partnerships and Emerging Markets Manager for @wisk.aero part of @boeing ! I loved learning more about JC’s background as an Aerospace Engineer especially so that @miamiedtech ‘s 25 summer high school interns in the @hp @mission44 “STEM IN MOTION” program could learn more about what it’s like to pursue such an exciting ambitious career. Also surreal for me personally 10 years after my Hoverboard days to see that actual “hovering flying taxis” are here! It was extra special to see JC witness the connections between his industry and the @infento semi autonomous electric vehicles the students were programming with the help of the @us.riders @riders.ai arduino based C++ curriculum and simulations! 🏎️⚡️🤖🦾 #STEM #AI #autonomousvehicles #robotics #coding #visualai #physicalai #ev #electricvehicles

Last week I had the pleasure to interview Martin Stier the Chief Inclusion Officer for @hp ! It was incredible learning more about Martin’s background and giving him the opportunity to share his wisdom with @miamiedtech 25 summer high school interns! It was extra special to see Martin’s reaction to the @infento electric vehicles the students were programming with the help of the @us.riders @riders.ai arduino based C++ curriculum and simulations. Big thank you to the HP and @mission44 teams for helping set this special impactful day up! 🏎️⚡️🤖🦾 #STEM #AI #autonomousvehicles #robotics #coding #visualai #physicalai
