The Udonis Haslem Foundation, in partnership with Riders.ai and Miami EdTech, is proud to announce the expansion of a robotics and coding STEM skills to 250 students across 10 local public schools including Hialeah Gardens Sr High School, Coral Park Sr High School, Southwest Sr High School, Jose Marti MAST Academy among others.

“I’m excited to help connect these kids to opportunities that seem to get to at-risk communities last. New ways of learning are the key to participating in a new and changing world, “ – Udonis Haslem.

Riders.ai, a virtual robotics and coding and curriculum and competition platform, empowers students with the tools they need for STEM exploration. While using Riders, students learn how to build and program simulated 3D robots in real time all while developing algorithms that expose them to early AI skills such as image recognition, and object detection.

Watching an 11-year NBA veteran get genuinely stunned by what a 7th grader built by hand is something I won’t forget.

“This blows my mind“ That was @turner_myles said, standing over an @infento electric vehicle and a @us.riders Robot with a group of Irvington middle school students who had engineered this just days earlier.

That’s Myles Turner at @irvingtonschools Middle School. There’s no doubt that he could’ve shown up, taken a few photos, and left but Instead he grabbed the tools and got into the weeds with the students on their Infento cars and Riders robots. It’s incredible how fast a room changes when someone that students look up to actually takes their work seriously.

Hands down my favorite part was watching him react to what these students built, at their age.

Then Myles sat down with the class for an interview, and he told them something a lot of you need to hear. He didn’t find “his thing” right away either.

He tried a couple of different sports paths that weren’t it before basketball became the one.

So if you’re a young person staring down that same question of what your thing is, the last clip is for you.
Ultimately this is why I do the work.

Year 1 we had an idea. Year 2 we had proof. Year 3 we have something real.

Three years of CodeArt robotics challenge. Three years of students building things they didn’t think they could build. 🤖

The goal now is to bring @riders.ai to every district that needs it.

🚀 In 2023, we awarded 4 students from iTech Magnet High School the City of Miami Riders Robotics Scholarship.

✨ Two years later, they’re applying their skills to build and program semi-autonomous Infento electric vehicles!

Two weeks ago the “STEM in Motion” internship @miamiedtech wrapped up in partnership with @hp and @lewishamilton ‘s @mission44 organization! The 25 high school interns crushed their final presentations showing how they were able to build semi-autonomous Electric vehicles using @infento and @us.riders curriculum. Indiana Pacers star player Myles Turner met with youth at a STEM event organized in collaboration with Miami EdTech and Riders. Turner aimed to spark children’s interest in technology by combining the power of sports and science.

On the Riders platform, students developed their robotics and coding skills, and Turner’s support served as a true inspiration for them.

📌 In a 6-week study, high school students explored concepts like motion, force, and momentum through 3D simulations using VPython.
🎯 The result? Compared to traditional lessons, their visual thinking improved significantly, learning deepened, and engagement increased! 🧠
