Tomorrow starts the season for the youth climbing series with USAC. One thing I love about competition belaying is, most of the time the competitors have never met this person on the other end of the rope they are tied to and yet they put so much trust into us that we will 1. Keep them safe & 2. Not interfere with their climbing. I’m excited to be able to build on my skills this season!

Save the date! 🧗🏾‍♀️

Adaptive Climbing Group’s National Training Camp returns November 20–22, 2026, at @movementgymschicago , and this year we’re adding a para climbing competition.

The competition will be open to all para athletes in North America, including those who are not participating in the full training camp.

Competition schedule, registration, and exciting new sponsor details, and more information about the weekend are coming soon. For now, mark your calendar and start planning to join us in Chicago!

Sponsors include @edelrid_sport @arcteryx and more!

Sure thing! Here’s a short and simple paragraph on how to give good low fall catches:

* Keep your brake hand firmly on the rope.
* Stay attentive and ready for the fall.
* Allow a small amount of controlled movement rather than staying completely rigid.
* Let the rope catch progressively to reduce the impact.
* Avoid giving excessive slack or intentionally jumping.
* Keep the catch smooth, controlled, and predictable.

Role Reversal for global climbing day! @andycondah is part of @usabelay crew that does all of our Para competitions. Usually its Andrew doing the belaying and pre climb checks but I thought it would be funny if I belayed him using the proper belay intro that competition belayers use to the athletes. This was a great way to have some fun this weekend during global climbing day but also a great way to give back to the awesome belayers that have been helping the competition community out for years.

If you're a comp climber and you see someone thats part if the USA belay crew go give them a catch! Because they been catching us for years!

Episode 62 with Meagan and C Lad is out now! 🎙️

Please show some love to @megsknecht and @_c.lad_! Meagan Knecht and C Lad are both level 5 belayers in the USA who are also helping out with belay training videos for World Climbing. In this episode, we’ll debunk the myth that women can’t belay men or heavier climbers, we’ll learn about the problems with Assisted Braking Device (ABD) requirements in gyms, and of course, we'll talk about how to get into high level belaying and how they became SPONSORED belayers thanks to Trango."

You can find the episode on Youtube, or any other platform you listen to podcasts on! Links to the website/YT are linked in the bio. ⬆️
