A Hospital on the Border – A Call to Heal Getashen 🇦🇲❤️
Nestled on the fragile border between Armenia and Turkey, Getashen Hospital stands as the only lifeline for three neighboring villages—separated from Turkey only by the Aras River, a symbol of our people’s resilience.
Built in 2001, this small hospital serves over 4,200 people but is now in heartbreaking condition—rusted doors, broken windows, crumbling walls, no heating, no proper plumbing. Our parents, grandparents, and children deserve better.
That’s why United Armenian Diaspora (UAD) has taken on the mission to restore Getashen Hospital and give these families the safe, dignified care they deserve.
💚 Fundraising Goal: $64,590
Your donation will go directly toward:
🛠️ Roof + full exterior renovation
🔥 Heating system installation
🚰 Plumbing + new water tank
⚡ Full electrical rewiring
🚪 New windows, doors & flooring
🚻 Bathroom renovations
🎨 Interior finishing & paint
Every dollar helps rebuild hope, health, and humanity at the edge of our homeland.
Your contribution will live not just in the walls of the hospital, but in the hearts of everyone it serves. Let’s heal Getashen—together. 🤝🇦🇲

This Thanksgiving week, let’s begin by giving thanks for all we are blessed with our homes, our families gathered together, and the health facilities we can walk into at any time to receive the care we need.⁣
⁣
But there are communities who don’t have that privilege.⁣
⁣
This Thanksgiving, let’s come together and give whatever we can to help reach the $64,500 goal for the Getashen Village Hospital Project.⁣
We have already raised $43,000, thanks to your generosity. Help us reach the finish line so the people of this village can finally have access to the care and dignity that we often take for granted.⁣
⁣
Here is a small clip of the children and elders of Getashen, sharing their heartfelt gratitude with the Diaspora for uniting to rebuild their hospital.⁣
⁣
Every dollar counts. Every share matters. Every act of kindness brings us closer to our goal.⁣

Project Complete: 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐫 (𝐊𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍) at Spitak Kakhak Zivnorakan Panteon 🇦🇲
⁣
We are humbled and honored to announce the completion of the Khoran (Altar) at Spitak Kakhak Zivnorakan Panteon, built in memory of the 21 brave heroes who gave their lives during the 44-day Artsakh War. 🇦🇲💔
⁣
This sacred altar, inspired by the architecture of Surp Sarkis Church, stands as a powerful symbol of sacrifice, faith, and unity. It is a project led by the parents of our fallen heroes—determined to ensure that their sons’ legacies live on in a place of peace, prayer, and remembrance.⁣
⁣
Every person who contributed to this project will be eternally remembered, with their name inscribed on a Khachkar within the church. 🕊️
⁣
To everyone who supported this mission—thank you. Together, we built more than just stone and mortar. We created a lasting tribute, a sanctuary for healing, and a symbol of national pride.

Whitewashing Ethnoreligious Cleansing: Celebrities, the UN, and Azerbaijan

In September 2023, Azerbaijan forcibly displaced 120,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), a move widely condemned as ethnic cleansing. Yet, despite this grave human rights violation, Azerbaijan continues to host major global events like Formula 1 races, and now COP29, the UN’s climate change conference. Celebrities like Naomi Campbell and Will Smith have been criticized for their public appearances in Azerbaijan, lending legitimacy to a regime accused of democracy abuses and ethnic cleansing.

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy recently fueled controversy with a post some labeled ”callous and ignorant” for downplaying these events.

Now, as Azerbaijan prepares to host COP29, there’s deep concern that this platform risks whitewashing Azerbaijan’s human rights record, undermining the credibility of the United Nations. The COP29 slogan, ”In solidarity for a green world,” sounds hollow when viewed against Azerbaijan’s recent actions. Environmental solidarity must start with justice; otherwise, it’s an empty phrase, brushing over the urgency for ethical accountability.

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) recently exposed Azerbaijan’s continued use of bribes and hidden funds to polish its image.

At ADFA, we are deeply concerned about how international bodies like the UNFCCC are contributing to the normalization of crimes against humanity. How hard is the UN trying to lose its credibility by overlooking these abuses? The question remains—will global leaders take a stand, or continue to enable human rights violations for the sake of expediency?

We remain committed to speaking up for human rights and justice. Will the UN join us?

We are honored to announce a heartfelt initiative to build an altar at Spitak Kakhak Zivnorakan Panteon in memory of the brave heroes who fell during the 44-day Artsakh War. The parents of 21 fallen heroes have united with a shared vision: to construct a church in honor of their sons who valiantly protected our lands.

While we have received authorization from the government to build the church, we are currently short on the funds needed to construct the altar (Khoran). The design for the altar is inspired by the Surp Sarkis Church, which holds great significance for our community.

This fundraiser is close to the hearts of many, and we kindly ask everyone to contribute whatever they can. The initial goal was to raise $4,000, but due to unexpected expenses, we are now seeking an additional $700 to make this vision a reality.

Every individual who contributes to this project will have their name inscribed on a Khachkar within the church. We invite you to support this meaningful initiative and help bring the vision of the parents of our 21 Fallen Heroes to fruition.

Together, we can create a lasting tribute to honor their legacy and provide a place of solace for their families and our community. Thank you for your support!
