Saskatchewan and Sweden have a lot in common: They're cold, they have a lot of trees, and both are working on next-generation satellite technology for future space missions.

@usask researchers were recently in Sweden to test a new atmospheric sensor designed and built by members of the Institute of Space and Atmospheric Studies (ISAS) in the @usaskartsci.

WHAT DOES YOUR HAIR MEAN TO YOU?

Here is an example submission for the issue!

We encourage other undergraduate students to submit their own contributions for consideration in our special issue! The deadline 11:59 pm Wednesday night!

Submitting a photograph is optional; USURJ has a photographer on its editorial board.

"Hair means a lot to me because of both my personal experience and my cultural history. As a child, I had alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition where the body attacks its own hair follicles, causing sudden hair loss in patches. Losing my hair at such a young age deeply affected my self-esteem; it made me feel different, exposed, and hyper-aware of how much hair is tied to identity and confidence. Because of that experience, hair became something I didn't take for granted, it became something I valued. Growing up Nigerian added another layer to this relationship. In many spaces, especially influenced by colonial standards, having "too much" hair or wearing it naturally isn't always celebrated and can even be frowned upon. But as I became more aware of history, I learned that pre-colonization, African hair was a powerful form of freedom, identity, and self-expression. That realization shifted everything for me. Wearing my hair now feels intentional; it's a way of reclaiming that history and challenging the narrative that certain hairstyles are unprofessional or lesser. For me, hair is no longer just appearance; it's resilience, culture, and self-expression all at once."

Did you know that you can use the same naloxone on dogs?

Yes, infact, its the same naloxone used on humans if they are overdosing. Naloxone is a a life saving medication that can quickly and temorporaily reverse the effects of an overdose. Since dog's are exploratory creatures who like to sniff, they can be at risk for accidentally ingesting opioids.

🎥 In this video, Grace and Reacher demonstrate and explain how naloxone (or narcan) can be administered to dogs using a nalaxone nasal spray or injector. Watch the full video to learn more about the symptoms dog present when they are overdosing and precautions to take when administering nalaxone.

‼️While naloxone can be life saving, It is important to always seek veterinary care after giving Naloxone to a dog.

📲💻The information in this video is expanded on more in a free educational guide that you can download at the link in our bio or at pawsitiveconnectionslab.com
