The platform is where the preparation meets the moment. Every hard session, every time I chose discipline over comfort, it was all part of the process. I don’t compete for my own glory, but to honor the One who gave me the ability to do it. Strong body. Steadfast spirit. Eyes on Him. 💪🏼✝️

‘So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.’ — 1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)

Great competition coming to eastern Tennessee on February 20th 2027 in Elizabethton 😎

This is an amazing gym with a picture of Bob Peoples on the wall. Bob deadlifted over 725 pounds at a bodyweight of about 180 pounds. His record still holds!

The gym owner is a great supporter of powerlifting and strength training and a TN USPA State record holder in the Bench Press.

Stay tuned for more about this contest capped at 45 Lifters! Link is live on USPA.net

@tylersonnett03 won best lifter (open male, drug tested) at the USPA Tennessee State Championship yesterday.

Next up for him is the IPL World Championship in 6 weeks.

Given the short turn around time before Worlds, and that this meet was the lower priority, we did a soft peak. We kept training through the meet rather than tapering, and we peaked using heavy doubles and triples rather than singles. This way we kept a little more workload and volume in, so we are still in a good position to keep pushing for another block and then taper for IPL Worlds.

I’ve had three lifters do soft peaks recently when they wanted to do a local competition while prepping for IPL or IDFPA worlds, and they all had good meets.

If you’re interested in learning about soft peaks (for low priority or back to back meets), let me know and I’ll make a video about them.
