✨I’m beyond honored to share that I’m a recipient of the 2026 NIH Outstanding Scholars in Neuroscience Award Program (OSNAP)! 🧠🏆

The @nihgov OSNAP award recognizes trainees from across the country who are conducting exceptional neuroscience research & demonstrating outstanding potential as future scientists. To receive this national recognition as a grad student is one of the greatest honors of my career — & something I truly *never* would’ve imagined.

What means even more to me is what this award represents for #OCD research — the opportunity to present my research on the neurobiology of OCD at the NIH & (most importantly) advocate for the investment, urgency, & support that #OCD research so deeply deserves. Representing the OCD community at the world’s leading biomedical research institution is a privilege I will never take for granted.

Receiving this news while presenting at my 5th @IOCDF #OCDCon2026, surrounded by my OCD community, was beyond special. It was a powerful reminder that everything I do begins & ends with our lived experience & our shared commitment to ending the suffering caused by this devastating illness.

I’m immensely grateful to every incredible human being who has believed in me, encouraged me, collaborated with me, & helped me get to this point. Thank you to my incredible thesis advisor Dr. Michael Cahill @cahill_lab, & my amazing bonus mentor Dr. Carolyn Rodriguez @crodriguezmdphd, for believing in me unconditionally as my whole self & supporting my dissertation research AND advocacy — I truly wouldn’t be here without you. And thank you to my mentors & collaborators past & present, the NIH, & every person & funding source who has invested in me + this work! 🙏🏾

For far too long, OCD has remained profoundly trivialized, underfunded, & understudied despite being one of the most disabling, debilitating, & deadly illnesses. This is SO much bigger than me — it’s a huge win for our community & for OCD research, & an incredible opportunity to help move us closer to the lifesaving investment, scientific breakthroughs, & hope our community has ALWAYS deserved. I’m ecstatic to celebrate this with you all! 🥹🫶🏾
