Wolves Exploration STEAM Camp has been out of this world! 🚀 🌎✨

This week’s theme, Space Odyssey, launched our young astronauts on an unforgettable adventure through the cosmos! Campers explored the wonders of space by creating stellar artwork, designing and building rockets, and diving into hands-on, galaxy-inspired STEAM challenges that sparked curiosity and imagination.

⭐ One of the highlights of the week was a special presentation from camper Jack, who shared his passion for building LEGO® Space Sets and demonstrated a rocket launch system for his classmates. Thank you, Jack, for inspiring us to keep reaching for the stars!

📸 Enjoy these snapshots from our journey across the universe!

🔗 We still have openings in select programs for rising kindergarten through 12th grade. Visit westga.edu/summercamps to learn more and register before spots are gone!

Every great idea begins with a conversation.

At UWG, we believe in the power of possibility. When people come together to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and imagine what could be, extraordinary things happen.

Grateful for the opportunity to connect with leaders and partners like Dr. Jessica M. Ainsworth, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools and proud UWG alum who is passionate about shaping the future. @glma_inc SI 2026 was incredible 🎆. Celebrating the Library, learning about others’ libraries, being with my Library Friends, interacting with my favorite Library Vendors/Besties, sharing what helps my Library & what I do in the Library, supporting all our Library Friends across the state, is just a small taste of Summer Institute is all about 🤩

Late post, but last week was an amazing and busy week! On Monday, I was awarded the Sara Cagle Memorial Scholarship. Tuesday, I attended the Teach in the Peach Future Georgia Educator Signing Day at the College Football Hall of Fame and was surprised with another scholarship. After signing, we of course went and ate at The Varsity.

Then on Wednesday, I attended the DCSS Future Georgia Educator Signing Day, where I was able to present two amazing teachers with the Golden Apple Award to recognize the difference they’ve made in my journey to becoming an educator.

I’m so grateful for all of these opportunities and the support I’ve received as I continue my journey to becoming an educator!

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we proudly celebrate Maya Timberlake ’23 ’25, recipient of our Thriving Under 30 Award.✏️🍎

Maya is a passionate Christian educator shaping both the minds and hearts of her first‑grade students at Greater Atlanta Christian School, where she is the youngest hire in the school’s history. She believes academic excellence begins with strong relationships, clear expectations, and a classroom culture rooted in encouragement and love. With a focus on foundational literacy, STEM, and character development, she strives to help students grow as confident, resilient learners. In 2024, Maya gained global recognition when a creative literacy lesson went viral and was featured on ESPN SportsCenter, showcasing her innovative approach to early reading instruction. As she shares, her goal is to push boundaries in teaching and inspire students to dream beyond what they imagine. Beyond the classroom, Maya coaches varsity girls and elementary basketball, mentoring student‑athletes in leadership, discipline, and teamwork. A former UWG basketball player, she now proudly supports her younger sister, Ava Timberlake ’27, who plays soccer at UWG. Her heart for service extends into the community through the Tim Tebow Foundation’s Night to Shine, Red Cross food drives, and mission work at Ciudad de Ángeles orphanage in Cozumel, Mexico.
Maya is honored to serve the Lord through her work and remains committed to making a lasting impact in the classroom and beyond. #ForeverWest #TeacherAppreciationWeek
