Amigos × amigas I am running my FIRST half-marathon to raise awareness to two causes that are very close to my heart. The first of the two causes is Jessica's healing protocol. The second is raising awareness of Uzuri, a cause supporting the end of period poverty in impoverished communities. Jessica is healing her body from a breast cancer diagnosis in November 2019. Ever since, she has demonstrated unwavering commitment to heal her body through a combination of alternative and allopathic methods. Currently she is undergoing a protocol which involves her going to the Battersea Frequency Clinic to effectively reconfigure the mitochondria of the damaged cells. The groundbreaking technology is called EE System which translates as Energy Enchantment System. This scientific approach to healing acknowledges the body to be an energetic conduit treating the imbalances of energy in circulation within the body to return to a state of homeostasis. She has already completed 140 hours and has seen very encouraging results. With your support this will continue! Uzuri is a cause which promotes the end of period poverty. Their target areas of promoting change are Jamaica, Ghana, Gambia and London. It would both stun and astonish to learn of the circumstances surrounding young women from poverty-stricken areas who are not in a position to step into womanhood hygienically. 10% of girls in the sub-sahara miss school during their period due to not having access to sanitary products, and 137,000 girls in the UK missed school because they couldn't afford them either. Uzuri is a word from the Swahili language which translates into "Beauty". In my effort to increase the awareness of these causes I feel the beauty of supporting these ambassadors of positive change is something we can be encouraged to do in the knowledge that your contributions will empower meaningful change and improvement! THANK YOOOUUUU @uzuriher, for donating these REUSABLE SANITARY PRODUCTS to us! 🥳🥳 Here are some guidelines when caring for your new @uzuriher period underwear: ✨ Rinse in cold water, wash and air dry at under 40°C before use (this will help activate the protection in the gusset in order to get best absorbency) ✨ Do not use bleach, softener, or other strong chemicals on the underwear (they can destroy the protective technology within the gusset) ✨ Do not iron the Uzuri underwear ✨ Wear it for up to 12 hours at a time ✨ Reuse for up to 3 years ✨ Rinse after use in cold water until the water becomes clear, then you can wash normally as described above The Uzuri period underwear works through the use of multiple layers of specially designed fabric to absorb menstrual flow and prevent leaks. Here’s a breakdown: 1. Moisture Wicking - The top layer is usually made of a fabric that quickly pulls moisture away from the body, keeping the wearer feeling dry and comfortable. 2. Absorbent Core - Beneath the top layer lie the highly absorbent heart of the period underwear, made of materials such as microfibre, cotton, or bamboo. 3. Leak-Proof Layer - An additional layer made of waterproof or water-resistant material that acts as a barrier to ensure that any absorbed fluid stays trapped within the underwear and doesn’t leak out, providing extra protection against leaks. 4. Antimicrobial Properties - Uzuri period underwear incorporate antimicrobial properties into the fabric that help prevent the growth of odour-causing bacteria and keep the underwear feeling fresh throughout the day. 5. Breathable Materials - The breathable materials used in the Uzuri period underwear promote airflow and reduce the risk of irritation or discomfort, especially during physical activity or in warmer climates. #reusablesanitarypads #uzuriher #girlsdogoodfoundation #endperiodpoverty #endperiodshame #endperiodstigma #jamaica #orphanedteens #vulnerablewomenandgirls

This year's Menstrual Hygiene Day theme, "Period Friendly World," emphasizes the importance of creating environments where menstruation is not a barrier to education, dignity, and overall well-being. In alignment with this theme, on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, we embarked on a transformative outreach to the Madina Cluster of Schools in La-Nkwantanang municipality. We educated girls from six schools on menstrual hygiene and donated sanitary pads to over 400 girls. To sustainably combat period poverty, we also distributed reusable pads to those who otherwise resort to unsafe materials. #BetheChangeOutreach2024 #Pay4APeriod #QualityEducation #MakingADifference #PeriodFriendlyWorld
