Hey! I’m Vanessa Henry Founder/Developer of Smart Sport Technology.

Cool facts about me:
1.) I was a professor for Digital Media Analytics/Digital Storytelling at Humber College at the age of 27! (2023-2024; Toronto, Canada)

2.) I completed a Masters of Éducation at OISE; UofT for Social Justice; i specialized in Digital Media Literacy and Refugee Technology Communications.

3.) I’ve had the privilege of working with the MLSE Toronto, to host TMU 2019-2020 Homecoming/ with the Argonauts.

4.) I am a huge AI nerd; curriculum/policy developer and programmer - with expérience design inf digital and in person programming for all levels of people.

5.) in January 2025 i developed Smart Sport Technology; IFli; and Hi-hack - in new market ontario Canada (during unemployment). Smart Sport Technology is sport curriculums merged into computer gaming to train both the mind and body; to enhance athlètes (all forms) ‘connection abilities; processing and response skills’; by merging sports analytics to support individual goals, leauge goals, and Community/national goals - by keeping sports (media) aligned to curriculums and ´play’!

What is your favorite gaming device to date?

Get in the game with teaching #SportsSmart : Meaning building memory « sight words; images; people, places; sports 🏀⛹🏽‍♀️🦖 » and language to develop * #playbasedlearning — meaning playing to « learn » ||

Storytelling with images, words both spoken and on paper; and using images that match our environments or the environments we want to be in support our cognitive and physical development in time; by being able to express ideas, collaborate and build our knowledge and skills into real life.

Think about @openai, @timhortons and the @raptors they all have a shared goal of making sure Youth (next generation of athletes and fans) fall in love with playing or watching different sports; they invest in different styles of marketing to get us to the games; but who helps prepare us to #play ? And do we play on @playstation or in a stadium or gymnasium? Do we ask our siblings or parents to coach; and how do they afford to play on a team if they have to work to play at the same time? Is it the responsibility of current players to coach community members when they are training too (because then the athletes have to work 2x as hard).

Nope, the answer is simple. Optimize and play smart. When we learn together we play together because we play by the same rules.

So the best people to work with are in your environment, because they have the same rules (language;instructions) as you. So, we need to identify our sightings (say what we see; sight words) to help build a shared soccer.

So, what we are noticing in #Canada is that the @wnbacanada is coming 🔥 which helps the current and future generations of women and men alike who are interested in working for a national sports league.

The @fwc26toronto is coming to Canada in #2026 ; so there is an opportunity to see the expansion of female sporting leagues alongside male soccer/football. Opening up opportunities for sports analytics, marketing, and international relationships due to the economic impact that FIFA brings through the sport of soccer/football.
Esports, particularly mobile gaming is leading in technology; which increase employment in sports and technology alike for Canadians. Which is @smartsporttechnology

#SmartSportTechnology #Samsung #humanintelligence #ai ; #gamesystem 👀 Hi-hack; first hint at @hood.smart / @v1letter next and “final” project - before the “academy” - merging Media,Entertainment, Technology and Sports (METS) to create Smart Sport Technology; to make sure we’re not just betting on sports; but we’re betting on ourselves to “be in the game”.

These are some of my favourite features from SST; LEAP•software - thanks open<3Gpt for helping me generate these photos

The redemption of a college dropout continues… 🙇‍♂️📚

Today, I was back at Humber College to speak to their Media & Creative Arts Faculty about this little journey I’ve paved for myself.

I can’t even describe how surreal it feels for an educational institution to not only support my artistic endeavours but to trust me enough to pass my teachings along to their students. Thank you @humbercollege thank you @v1letter ❤️

BIGGGG shoutout to @v1letter and @hood.smart for creating space for conversation around Black hair!! So honoured to have had the opportunity to participate in this talk 🎤🪮👩🏾‍🦱

Conversations like this always remind me how proud I am to have the hair I do. I grew up begging for perms, got em and *hated* every minute of it. I’m beyond grateful to have these discussions because they remind of me the undoing, unlearning and relearning I had to do to embrace all of me. And now, I have Locs 🥰 what a journey it has been.

Can’t wait for y’all to hear what everyone had to say ✨

Y’all ready for this convo?? 👀 #blackhair #blackhistorymonth #hairtalk #blackcreativestoronto

thank you @wnba X @youtube and CNCPT for such a fantastic panel! The journey for athletes & creatives - though they differ quite a lot, have many similarities we often look past. As someone who trained in various sports growing up and is now on a creative career path, it’s very exciting to see both sides intersect with events like this.

HUGE shoutout to @thegiveandgrow for always adding such substance, intention and love to this event. I connected with some beautiful people and it reminded me how much I truly value community 🥹
