Wolverine Wednesday:
Laura Kinney aka X-23/Wolverine by the UBER TALENTED Michael Choi. The character was created by writer Craig Kyle for the X-Men: Evolution television series in 2003, before debuting in the NYX comic series in 2004. This piece is beyond special for me as it was the first time I met Mike and his wife Vicki. My mom had recently passed and we had a wonderful conversation that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. #laurakinney #wolverine #x23 #xmen #xforce @mrcraigkyle @michaelchoiart @v_remmel

Finally happy with the layout balance for the text and art for our upcoming Mohnstur Watch short story. Here’s a look into the siblings’ wrestling scene. In these two versions you can see what the background I made in Sketch Up looks like raw and the inks for it. We’re working hard to make sure that we don’t hold back on the quality for the book. Hope you all are digging the behind the scenes process sneak peeks! SWIPE 👈👈 to check it out!

This is my nephew Wylie Megatron Yushin Choi. He is so beautiful and mesmerizing. I watch vids of him from my sister on repeat. I made some post-it-note art of @wyliemegatron for @mikechoiart for Christmas. I liked doing toner transfer on such a tiny scale of such a tiny, sweet little dude. I also really like making presents for people. @v_remmel @postit #postitnoteart #tonertransfer #art #artistsoninstagram

So all month long I’ve been asking you to help me share Vicki’s Kickstarter for her children’s book Bipolar Bear, that she wrote and painted for kids and their parents to help talk about bipolar disorder in a really simple but caring way. I honestly do feel that a book like this could help a lot of parents bring up a subject that is still very much taboo in a lot of families, but needs to be addressed especially in families where it’s oftentimes unapproachable.
I personally just didn’t want my son growing up afraid of me because he didn’t know what to anticipate or wonder which dad he’d see today, or feeling like he had to constantly walk on eggshells around me. I know that I would want him to feel like he had a better handle on what was going on with his dad without him or me feeling like I was somehow diminished to him. And I think this book can help do that from a very early age.

There’s just about 48 more hours to go, and we’re stoked to have reached almost three times the original goal of seeing the book published. This isn’t an endeavor to make any money, and the price of the book reflects the cost of printing and mailing down to the dollar. But as more people order books there are some price breaks the more books we get printed, but Vicki is using that money to do additional stuff to help promote mood disorder awareness, like stickers now going to everyone who ordered a book, and next the enamel pins that she’ll be able to make and send to everyone who supports the book if the campaign reaches the very reachable goal of $4000. We’re hoping people wear them to help spread awareness of bipolar disorder in families.

She’s not asking for donations, just to help spread the message. So please consider sharing this post if you know of anyone who might be able to use a book like this, or a school or anywhere else. I truly believe that this book is meant to be out there, helping other families like ours.

The link is on my front page. Thank you so muc
