What would I do without the wild women?

I remember as a child watching them, glueing myself to their legs, their cackle and their smiles etched into my brain.

I watched them cry and embrace each other when the world around them swirled learning to lean in even when the world tells women to lean out away from each other.

I learned how to use my hands by the way they laid them on me when I had an ache or pain or the way that they cradled food when they prepared it.

As I got older I sought out the women that read my tea leaves, our my astrology chart in the living rooms of their homes.
The women who gave hope when the darkness of the world felt like it was trying to swallow me.

When I was 20 & still remembering herbs and medicines it was the witchy women in her 50s or 60s that inspired me, that I’d ask to help me and they would.

And in a health crisis after the birth of my daughter after doctor after doctor couldn’t help me, it was a wild woman with God in her eyes that healed me overnight.

It was a woman that helped me navigate the ins and outs of becoming the healer I am.

It was women that came to me and gave me their money to heal, grow and flourish alongside me.

It was women that sat with me in circle and held space for Magick and Keening and held me when I felt like I would not go on.

It was women always.

I understand love from these women and what they have given to me.
