It was @artist.ummah’s pleasure to host Girl Scout troop 4438 & Muslim Cub Scouts at the Contemporary Muslim Art Exhibit with @kulsumtasnif at @vaeraleigh yesterday. They are such thoughtful kids with great insight mA. We look forward to nurturing a community of young creatives who use the talent to better themselves and their community InshAllah! They are already making us proud ❤️ Thank you artists for sending the troop your valuable words of advice!

Representation matters. Thank you @vaeraleigh for accommodating us. Our community truly appreciates your efforts.

The winter solstice will be the darkest day of this year. While the daylight will be brief, the night sky will be at its best for seeing signs like the Chirstmas Star. And every day after will be brighter.

The hope this implies is even more symbolic at the end of 2020 - a year that’s been labeled as one of the darkest of our time.

To celebrate, volume 2 of my Raleigh for Ronin walking guide series drops on 12/21. The theme is transience. And it features a new walking route inspired by the light-based art show from #IlluminateDTR. Why else are we here and gone in a flash, if not to light the way for each other.

DM to reserve your pay-what-you-want copy and stay awake for Episode 2 on RaleighisforRonin.com, where new adventures downtown await. Wander light.

I’m so thankful that @downtownraleighalliance and @vaeraleigh hooked us up with @d_j_neon
Downtown Raleigh Alliance and VAE are unveiling next week a light art event to activate downtown storefronts. These works will range from simple neon signs to larger-scale light installations. If you follow any of these pages or have seen NEON going up all over downtown this is the why! We were just having the front of our space going to waste during our buildout of @thehightidesalon that we were honored to have this amazing neon sign made by @d_j_neon to be admired while we finish construction!
Over the weekend into next week we will have some other fun things done to our store front for the holidays! Can’t wait to show you more.
