NEW REVIEW ✦ *Dasamahavidya*, presented by Silambam Phoenix In his review of *Dasamahavidya*, Dhruva Lakshminarayanan considers a production that brings together Bharatanatyam, theatre and spoken word. He reflects on the production’s intricate ensemble work, striking visual language and ambitious theatrical structure, while considering how spoken word might move beyond explaining abhinaya, how repetition and pacing shape the dramatic arc, and whether representations of bhakti might evolve alongside the ways we experience devotion today. We're back in NYC this weekend with an industry reading of Bound To You! Bound To You was the 2025 recipient of Live & In Color’s June Bingham New Playwright Commission. The play was originally workshopped at L&IC’s Fall Retreat and now continues its development with this reading. Bound To You, a new play by Vaibu Mohan, follows a Woman who enters a bondage studio seeking control and instead encounters a sly, disarming Demon drawn from the world of South Asian folklore. What begins as a simple rope session unravels into a surreal journey where myth, memory, and desire intertwine. The readings are invite-only, but if you are interested in attending or learning more, please email Program Director Abigail Grubb.
