Wanted to make a post celebrating the life of Rojo, a real life fire dog.

Rescued as a sick puppy by my buddy Brandon off a beach in Baja Mexico, he spent 10 years training and working as a FEMA search K9 with the Seattle Fire Department.

I loved that he was a staple in our Station 5 crew photos.

Sorry for your loss Brandon. He was a super good boy.

Had a great trip to Yakima to visit the folks at Fire Station 91 on B shift. Sunglasses were mandatory! Can you pick out the two guys that are brothers?

Apologies to my Canadian sisters and brothers for missing Canada Day yesterday. Over the years I’ve had some great visits and we’ve taken some fun photos. Here’s a handful.

Here’s doggo number two from my visit with the Snohomish County K9 Foundation.

K9 Hondo is a 8 year old dual-purpose Police Service Dog with the Mill Creek Police Department. He specializes in tracking, evidence recovery, criminal apprehension and narcotics detection. Known for his intense drive, laser-sharp focus, and flawless work ethic on the trail, Hondo is a vital asset to the community he protects. When he’s off the clock, he transitions seamlessly from a dedicated protector to a loyal partner and a good boy.
