Ever wonder how that Coca Cola can gets into your fridge? There’s a good chance a Mack Truck was part of the journey. Today I had an awesome behind the scenes tour of the Mack Trucks Experience Center and Historical Museum, and one of my biggest takeaways was just how connected this iconic brand is to everyday life. Coca-Cola operates with a 100% Mack fleet, using Mack trucks to move Coca-Cola products and other freight. And here’s the local connection: many of those big Mack trucks are built right here in Macungie in the Lehigh Valley. Mack has been building trucks for more than 125 years, and today its Lehigh Valley facility continues to produce the heavy duty trucks that haul products, move materials, collect waste and help keep businesses and communities running every single day. It’s pretty cool to grab a Coke off the shelf and realize there’s a piece of Lehigh Valley manufacturing behind the journey that helped get it there. 🥤🚛

❤️Connections in Compassionate Care ❤️ ▫️Last week, I had the privilege of being invited by @marisacarrodo and @silfiesmama to the American Heart Association’s Executive Heart Exchange in Downtown Allentown. The company, the views, the conversations, and the knowledge shared within that space were truly awe-inspiring. We were reminded that, in an emergency, we may quite literally hold another person’s heart in our hands-a responsibility that feels both empowering and deeply humbling. We were also reminded that heart health affects so many of us, across all ages, backgrounds, and stages of life. ▫️My connection with the American Heart Association began in September 2019 (thanks to @angela_c_moreno Moreno), when I volunteered to lead pre-walk yoga at the Heart Walk. Since then, the connections I have made through the AHA have stretched far and wide. It feels incredibly full-circle to have gone from volunteering at the Heart Walk, to attending the Heart Luncheon (thanks to @shonda.moralis) and now to being included in the Executive Heart Exchange. ▫️Heart health is also deeply personal to me. I am someone with a predisposition to heart conditions, as well as a cancer survivor whose lifesaving treatment with Herceptin required careful monitoring because of its potential effects on the heart. I understand firsthand that caring for the heart is not separate from caring for the whole person-it is an essential part of compassionate, preventative, and lifesaving care. Red means GO! So much (worthy, though still lacking) attention is given to other women’s health issues, while heart disease is the #1 killer of women—affecting all ages. Yesterday’s Eastern PA Go Red event was inspiring, informative, and energizing. Kudos to @silfiesmama and her team for a hugely successful heart-warming event!
