đŸ©·đŸ§Ą Polka Dot Sisters heading to Celebration this weekend
I have something for your road trip playlist! đŸŽ§đŸ©·đŸ§Ą

I had the opportunity to sit down with Coach Jackie Cote, who will ALSO be one of the speakers at Celebration, for her I Got It Girl Podcast!

And let me tell you
 we talked about A LOT.

We talked about my 14 years in business, moving from Tennessee to Pennsylvania and basically having to rebuild my community from scratch, putting myself in rooms where I didn’t know anyone, networking when it feels uncomfortable, visibility, storytelling, LinkedIn, and finding YOUR way to show up consistently.

But one of my favorite parts of this conversation was talking about SISTERHOOD. đŸ©·

Because I can tell you firsthand that organizations like Polka Dot Powerhouse and the Junior League have played such an important role in helping me build community after moving to Pennsylvania.

And we also got personal about something I think a lot of us “I Got It Girls” struggle with: realizing we don’t always have to do EVERYTHING ourselves. 😅 Sometimes strength also looks like receiving support, trusting other people and letting go a little.

So, my @polkadotpowerhouse Sisters đŸ©·đŸ§Ą, if you’re driving or flying to Celebration this weekend, download this episode and take Jackie and me along for the ride! đŸŽ§đŸš—âœˆïž

Then you’ll get to see Jackie LIVE at Celebration!

Thank you, @jackiecotecoaching , for such a fun, real and meaningful conversation. đŸ©·đŸ§Ą

Germany! đŸ‡©đŸ‡Ș

I guest lectured at Technische Universität Chemnitz @tuchemnitz for Professor Erik Maier’s Marketing Communications class. My topic was “From Student to Standout: Mastering LinkedIn to Get Noticed in Germany’s Marketing Scene
(Wie du mit deinem LinkedIn-Profil in Deutschland wirklich auffällst).”

I shared strategies that included:
Building a standout profile (specifically in the DACH region)
Engaging to expanding reach with meaningful commenting
Be consistent/authentic.

My children were talking these pictures which made my experience even better. They helped me handout snacks to students who were engaging. But they heard me shared my wisdom about personal branding and with my jetlag they heard me unfiltered.

It was so enlightening seeing how the students shared what stood out to them and what action steps they were take after my presentation. Very similar to what I have heard in the USA after doing this for over 13 years at other universities.

ChatGPT told me to add this summary line based on prompting: “Your LinkedIn profile isn’t just a résumé — it’s a conversation starter for your future career.”

I gave the professor a signed copy of the book I am co-author in and he gave me glass cups from TU Chemnitz. Several students jumped and completely filled out their profiles from scratch after my lecture and connected with me. Tagging them here: Mary Ann Foley , Franz Dietel , & Diana Hryhorovych.

Grateful to the Professor for allowing me to achieve this opportunity!

đŸ» A hidden gem in the Lehigh Valley, beautiful fall scenery, AND a delicious lunch? Yes, please! 🍂

One of my favorite things about being relatively new to the Lehigh Valley is discovering places that make me say, “How did I not know about this?!”

Well, I finally got to explore Bear Creek Mountain Resort!

I’ve been running into their Sales Manager, JeriLynn, at several women’s networking events, so when I heard about their fall open house for meeting and event professionals, my curiosity got the best of me!

And I’m so glad I went!

đŸœïž The complimentary lunch was DELICIOUS! You know food is always a way to my heart!

🏱 Their event spaces can accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to large corporate events and conferences. I actually attended with my newest client, an event planner, so talk about perfect timing!

đŸ» My momma bear hat immediately came on when I discovered their heated OUTDOOR pool is open ALL YEAR ROUND! Yes, even during Pennsylvania winters!

đŸ’†â€â™€ïž I also met Janine, the spa manager, who recommended their “Get Up and Flow” facial based on what I told her I needed. Adding that to my wish list!

And of course, the PEOPLE! I met some wonderful professionals, exchanged business cards, and discovered that two of the ladies were fellow @polkadotpowerhouse members, aka “Dots!” Talk about instant rapport!

This is why I love putting myself out there. You never know who you’ll meet, what you’ll discover, or how those connections might help someone else down the road.

A huge thank you to the @bear_creek_events team for the wonderful hospitality! And JeriLynn, I’m so glad our paths kept crossing!

Lehigh Valley friends, what other hidden gems am I missing out on?! 👀

Starting over at 40 is uncomfortable.

Moving to Pennsylvania meant rebuilding more than my surroundings. I had to rebuild my community, my professional network and my local visibility after spending years establishing those relationships somewhere else.

And there was no shortcut.

I had to put myself in rooms where I didn’t know anyone. Volunteer. Join organizations. Ask questions. Be curious about other people. And yes, sometimes walk into an event thinking, “Okay
who am I going to talk to?” 😅

But here’s what I’ve learned:

You don’t build a network by walking into a room wondering what people can do for you. You build it by getting genuinely curious about the people in the room.

That could be asking what restaurant I absolutely NEED to try because I’m new here, what they’re reading, what they’re watching, or why they became involved with an organization.

Those little conversations build rapport. Rapport builds relationships. And relationships create opportunities.

This clip is just a small piece of my conversation with @jackiecotecoaching on the I Got It Girl Podcast. We went much deeper into reinvention, sisterhood, building visibility, networking, social media and what it really looks like to start over professionally in a new community.

If you’ve ever had to reinvent yourself, rebuild your network, or simply wondered how to become more visible without feeling like you’re constantly selling yourself, listen to the full episode.

I think you’ll find a few things you can put into practice immediately.

Sometimes you move to a new state
and somehow the right people start showing up.

This weekend I had the opportunity to attend Polka Dot Powerhouse Celebration 2026 in King of Prussia, PA, and what are the chances that this national conference happened practically in my new backyard?

Since moving to Pennsylvania last year, I’ve been very intentional about building genuine relationships and finding my community. Joining the Lehigh Valley Polka Dot Powerhouse chapter has been a wonderful part of that journey.

And getting to experience Celebration alongside my Lehigh Valley Dot Sisters made it even better.

Two days of speakers, conversations, connection activities, laughter, and meeting women from chapters across the country. There was a lot of learning, but for me, the biggest takeaway was another reminder of something I talk about all the time:

Relationships matter.

You can have the best marketing strategy, the strongest LinkedIn profile, or the perfect elevator pitch, but people remember how you made them feel and whether you took the time to genuinely connect.

And I have to laugh at the timing.

I move to Pennsylvania
and Celebration comes to Pennsylvania.

I’ll take that as a sign that I was exactly where I was supposed to be this weekend.

So grateful for my Lehigh Valley Dot Sisters, the new connections I made, and all the conversations that I know won’t end just because the conference did.

Now comes one of the most important parts: the follow-up.

Because networking isn’t about how many people you meet in a room. It’s about what you do with those relationships afterward.

Thank you, @polkadotpowerhouse , for bringing Celebration 2026 to Pennsylvania. taken in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania by @valentinaeg

I love adapting my talks on the spot. I literally did it at the @pennsylvanialatinoconvention when I was presenting about AI prompting and I noticed a couple of Colombians that were very engaged in my talk so I made it intentional & memorable by making them laugh!

Here is the prompt:

“I own a [type of business] in [city/region], and my ideal customers are [describe audience]. I want to connect authentically with Latino/Hispanic customers in my community. Based on my audience, recommend whether my social media content should primarily be in English, Spanish, or Spanglish. Explain why, and suggest what types of content would work best in each language. Ask me any questions you need before making assumptions about my audience.”

Thanks again to my hairdresser for recording it: @estrongbeauty at @elizabethanthonyssalon taken in Easton, Pennsylvania by @valentinaeg
