POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Asheville can only thrive if we all thrive. That requires transparency and an open flow of information between neighbors, organizations, and government. Our community is the expert our representatives should be consulting.

Jeffrey Burroughs understands how imperative accountability and follow-through is as Asheville continues to recover from Helene and this unprecedented time in its history. We must prioritize public services. We must invest in our city. We can’t afford to wait any longer to make the changes that will sustain our community 5-10-20 years down the line.

Show up at the polls, Asheville! Your voice matters and we need to hear from you.

Look at this room.

Every person here showed up because they believe in an Asheville that works for the people who keep it running. That is what this campaign has always been about.

The servers, the artists, the contractors, the caregivers, the small business owners. You are the heartbeat of this city and you showed up for each other. Thank you for showing up for us too.

This is just the first look at an unforgettable night. More coming soon.

Thanks to everyone who voted to re-elect me to serve a full 2 year term on the North Carolina Democratic Party State Executive Committee at today's Buncombe Democrats annual convention. Congratulations to all of our new members, especially the Young Dems who stepped up to lead.

Kinda chic to root for the home team.

Kinda chic to ask the City Councilor the questions yourself.

Kinda chic to make new friends before 9 AM.

Kinda chic to actually understand your taxes.

Kinda chic to spend a Tuesday night on a rooftop.

July is a pretty good example of what AYPROS has become.

We started the month at HomeTrust Field for an @ashevilletourists game, launched our Government Relations Crew, introduced Mug Club to more than 50 people at @wheelhouseasheville, brought the @ncdor1 and @forvismazars_us directly to young professionals for a packed Lunch & Learn, and finished the month overlooking the River Arts District from @theroofavl at @theradicalhotelavl during a tornado - and still had a huge turnout.🌪️

We love spending summer with you all. Let’s keep doing it!

We’re inviting every candidate on the ballot in Asheville and Buncombe County to join us on August 20.

Each participating candidate will receive the same brief, timed opportunity to answer one question: “Why are you running, and what is the one thing you want Asheville and Buncombe County’s young professionals to remember about you when they head to the polls?”

Candidates will make brief introductions and then the room will open for attendees to meet candidates, ask questions and speak with them directly.

Young professionals who live here, work here, own businesses here, raise families here and vote here should be in the room. Showing up gives candidates the chance to meet their constituents face to face and gives you a better understanding of who is asking to represent you.

Thursday, August 20
5:30–7:30 PM
Location to be announced

Appetizers and drinks will be provided.

AYPROS is nonpartisan and does not endorse candidates or political parties. Every candidate on the ballot is being invited, and each participating candidate will receive equal time.

Thank you to our Government Relations Crew for putting this event on. Want to join the Government Relations Crew? Shoot us an email at info@aypros.org and we'll get you in touch with the crew and co-crew leader.
