📍Set Photography from Taasan Mo Na, a short film where a do-it-all Filipino father fleeing from grief must break free from his self-destructive cycle of repression before losing his son’s faith in their unspoken love.

🎞️ I had the privilege to be apart of this set as the crew’s Unit Stills Photographer. To me, this film meant a lot seeing it go from script onto camera and getting to see some of the crew try Filipino food for the first was quite warming to my heart. I hope you enjoy these photographs as much as I. 🎞️

🇵🇭 What makes this Filipino bakery so special that it’s been around since 1979?! 👀🥖

For Episode 4 of Celebrating Filipino American History Month, we’re checking out Valerio’s 1979 in Mira Mesa to try some of their classic Filipino breads and pastries!

Here’s what I tried:

🥯 Bicho-Bicho – $1.25 🧀 Ube Cheese Roll – $2.25 🍞 Spanish Bread – $1.40 💜 Ube Basket Bread – $1.65

Out of everything I tried, the Ube Cheese Roll was definitely my favorite! 💜🧀 Loved the combination of sweet ube and savory cheese!

There’s something special about Filipino bakeries that have been around for generations. These are the kinds of pastries many of us grew up enjoying, and it’s always great seeing businesses like this keeping our food and traditions alive!

Me and Madre are back this week with brunch 🥞
We went to one of our favorite spots @boujiemana in Kearny Mesa. It’s dog friendly and has a parking lot 🐾🐶🅿️
