Painted this view from a hilltop neighborhood in Antioch looking west toward Diablo. A storm was brewing in the distance but our side of the world was still sunny and warm. “The Sunny Side,” acrylic on 8” x 16” cradled wood panel, © Nancy Roberts. Happy to share that this painting has been juried into the “Slopes of Diablo” exhibit June 6 - August 1 at Valley Art Gallery in Walnut Creek, California.

🎨 Meet Lafayette’s Resident Artist.

After a successful career in interior design, Ruth Stanton returned to her first love—painting—and has been creating captivating, color-rich artwork ever since. Whether she’s capturing the quiet beauty of Briones Hill or the vibrant personality of a portrait subject, Ruth brings heart, energy, and emotion to every piece.

A longtime Lafayette resident, Ruth paints from her home studio and is an active member of the Bay Area Studio Artists, Lamorinda Arts Alliance, and Valley Art Gallery—where she also serves in leadership roles. Ruth’s love for color, light, and emotion shines through in every piece, whether it's a portrait or a lively depiction of nature.

Read more about Ruth and see her work in our June issue! Online at greetlafayette.com or click in bio to download your copy.
