Our current exhibition "Colorfall" runs through November 7th.

A generally acknowledged truth about original art is its unique ability to add character, warmth and personality to any environment.

This idea of art enriching life is one we've embraced for over 75 years now – to connect the East Bay with the best art of the best local artists.

With some 300 pieces our new show Colorfall spans a wide range of styles, motifs, media and price points — continuing our mission to help people discover the pleasure of original art.

The gallery's unique "No Regrets" 2-D rental option continues in place.

Also on hand is our usual array of unusual fine crafts and artist designed gift cards.

Please note we're always available by phone or email to discuss any work that may have sparked your interest — or to arrange a no-obligation, one-on-one, gallery appointment.

There is mystery in the air of Salvador Valencia's watercolor painting. It is a marvel how Valencia was able to convey the weight of water droplets held in suspension over the landscape. Visit Valley Art Gallery to experience it for yourself.

When experiencing this solar plate etching by Linda Yoshizawa, we are reminded of Kahil Gibran's writing, "Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky."

Difficulties and troubling thoughts are pulled from our minds when we view the stillness in this bucolic scene painted by Ruth Stanton. Northern Californians will recognize it for the rolling hills and find promise in the fresh spring grass.

Ah - to sleep in a state of "Repose," Merriam-Webster Dictionary describes as 'peaceful tranquility.' Valley Art Gallery artist, Nancy Vachani captures this state perfectly in this 14 x 18 inch oil painting. Perfect to hang in any room to encourage comfort and relaxation.

Whether a study in tonality or an abstracted landscape, this large watercolor by Georganne Zaro, is sure to please. Aptly titled,"Where Water Learns the Land," we are reminded of the beauty in rain water, melting ice and cascading waterfalls.

Feel the power of the ocean depicted in Leslie Wilson's watercolor painting - "Fisherman at San Gregorio State Beach." Wilson portrays the fisherman casting his line with ease. We appreciate the juxtaposition of this composition, which hosts a person doing what they love in a thrillingly chaotic environment.

A beautiful watercolor by Rita Sklar shows her capacity for luminosity. We see the full range here, with pops of bright color and warm pastels in the reflection of the sky. It's all pulled together by the shadows that frame her canvas.

This is one of Josef Twirbutt's amazing wood mixed media. His pieces in this series are heavy and tactile. You can't help but want to feel them. They are always balanced and intriguing in composition and color palette. Come see more of his beautiful work at the Valley Art Gallery in Walnut Creek, including some of his paper-based collages.
