16 professional artisans in Middletown & Pleasant Valleys of central MD.
Studio Tour: weekend b4 Thanksgiving
Spring Showcase: last weekend in April

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In the afternoon, we decided to visit the Valley Craft Network’s holiday showcase in Middletown and Pleasant Valley. The first stop was Pathfinder Farms Distillery, where we took in their collection of tractors and tasted their newest release. David also got to take part in a barrel tasting. Then, we stopped at several of the other crafter’s studios and picked up some Christmas gifts along the way. It was really an interesting experience. Various crafters participate and share their crafts and creativity with the public in their own studio space. There were potters, jewelers, photographers, tailors and seamstresses, and other artisans to visit. The drive was lovely and we discovered some very talented artists. My favorite spot was van Gilder Pottery in Gapland. I have plans to go back again this year.

My urn, “Song for a Fisherman” will be on display during the Women Artists of the DMV show at Artspiration, in Frederick, MD. This incredible show, curated by Lenny Campello, features some of the amazing women who make work in the DMV. You may think the Smithsonian should have mounted this show, and you’d be right! Since the curators there neglected to do so, Lenny took on the task and produced something amazing. I hope you’ll come to the opening at Artspiration on Nov 8 2-6 pm 915 Toll House Ave (maybe they’ll serve cookies!) and look for other venues in the show, which you can find at www.womenartistsofthedmv.com #womenartistsofthedmv #monocacyriverpottery #womenwhowoodfire
