NY Sheep & Wool Day 2.

Sunday was beautiful! Got to meet @jengeigley (whose Make Something Every Day sweatshirt has become a daily wardrobe staple), hug so many friends and end the day with buds on the hill!

Was so happy to be part of Katy @katrinkles_knitting_jewelry team!

Can’t wait to be back on the fairgrounds next year!

3 years.

3 years of my gay audacity telling me my community deserves more, needs more and 3 years of toiling away to get it done.

The team at @collarcitypride is unlike any other. Local, queer folks who also want more for their community. This organization would be nothing without them all.

Fully volunteer based - and yesterday we brought our pride festival BACK HOME.

We will never stop fighting for visibility and queer joy - and thank you all who keep supporting us in the fight.

3rd Annual Pride Festival in the books!

Officially on our way home after a/ a week in Vegas for a work conference followed directly after by b/ the @fiberwitchfestival in Salem.

I can’t believe I even considered skipping, knowing I’d be exhausted. But I powered through and it was absolutely the right choice. Admittedly, copious amounts of coffee and a macchiato from Jaho helped.

The people, the places, the fiber enablement - it’s a vibe I can’t resist. And this year, I got to spend even more time with the other half of my coin, @penny_moons, who I apparently share a brain with.

If you’ve been debating a long weekend in Salem specifically for this event, you need to pencil it in for next year. They just announced the 2027 dates so there’s no excuse to miss it!

See you then, hopefully without the Vegas part 😂

As a group, we build a trust in knowing that there is a space free of fatphobia. Trust also exists in the independent relationships we build with one another. To be in friendship with each other is a gift.

While we all may have different interests, expressions, social batteries, and confidence: ever single person plays a role in our club as a whole. We wouldn’t be the same without each unique trait you all bring to the table. Our lives are better with all of you in it.

Each one of these ethereal humans rose to the challenge of vulnerability with an open heart. Every single person we meet in community matters to us. We all have a role to play in liberation. Every time someone shows up, for themselves or for others, we act in resistance in systemic fatphobia, racism, and transphobia. Never been more proud to be a fat person in community with all of you.

Mary Oliver’s “Wild Geese” opens with the famous line, “You do not have to be good.” You don’t have to carry shame or repent endlessly to be worthy. You only need to let your body love what it loves. You Do Not Have To Be Good To Belong in our club.

We are so proud of those who show up scared, nervous, or unsure. Anyone who comes to an event for the first or the fiftieth time takes a chance on community. Liberation isn’t linked to positivity and working towards liberation doesn’t mean you have to stay in isolation until you feel perfect in your activism. It’s not easy to be present in your body and you aren’t required to feel confident in your body to have a home with us and get to experience the splendor of fat friendship. Thanks for being so easy to love exactly how you are.🏔️ 🖤🩷❤️
