I present to you all: Us Versus the World (You and I P.2)

I wanted to take more of the lover boy approach on a song and I ended up creating this piece in honor of all the things my parents have passed down to me. Love, trust, respect, family, and so much more. To think that it’s been more than 31 years they get to celebrate that they’ve been with each other is more than monumental. They held each other down in the good times and bad, and something that stuck with me the most that I learned from my dad is “It really does take a village.”

It takes a village to take on the world we live in. It takes a village to build something long term and solid. It takes a village to make sure that we need to run this life alone. It takes a village to build upon your dreams and aspirations. It takes a village to build a family.

As I see my mom and dad loving each other every single day, I’ve learned: you find your person meant for you, you find the people that are meant to hold you down til the very end of the line, and you create something long term.

And for everything they’ve built, that’s what I’m after and what I’m striving for always.

Us Versus the World is out on all platforms! 🫶🏼🤍

the end of an era🧸🩵

I got my B.S. in Biochemistry thanks to @ucla , @buttecollege , and most importantly with thanks to my loved ones! It takes a village, and without the support of my closest friends and family I could not tell you where I would be. I am grateful to always have my cup overflowing with the love and support from my community, so much so that it overflows into my work and fuels my dreams to become a reality.

as cliche as it sounds, I would do it all over again if I could, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I wish I could tell my high school self that going to butte was the best decision I could have made. back then, I was so stuck and I believed going to a community college would be the end of my academic career, and yet it was only the beginning! I am so appreciative to all butte college had to offer, and the experiences that shaped me into who I am today. the ‘community’ in community college is there for a reason. I couldn’t be more grateful for the community that believed in me when I didn’t, challenged me academically and personally, and led me to grow in so many different facets of my life.

I hope to continue to grow in whatever path I continue into next, and I will hold this chapter so close in my heart as I do so :) 💌
