These weren't actors. @ford wanted real ambassadors, which meant less scripting, fewer marks, and a lot more reacting to what was happening in the moment. Honestly, we think more brands are moving this direction. Audiences are getting pretty good at spotting when something feels manufactured. Do you think authenticity matters more today than production value?

Very proud to finally share this piece I shot and directed for @kb4people! Produced by @postmoderncompany. KnowBe4 really gave us a ton of freedom on this one, as they wanted something bold, artistic, and outside the box compared to what you might usually see from a cybersecurity company. Thanks to everyone who was involved with this one! This was such a fun and rewarding production and it was made all the better by so many talented people!

Some BTS moments from our Lumen Technologies brand refresh. This project had over 35 crew members, 40+ actors, two camera teams, three (2 G&E and 1 Camera) teams, two photo teams, $40K worth of wardrobe, HMU, art department, and enough moving pieces that it felt closer to a feature film than a commercial shoot. The thing we'll remember most isn't the scale. It's how collaborative it felt. Every department knew exactly what needed to happen next, which meant we could spend less time solving problems and more time creating.

The final shot lasts a few seconds. What you're not seeing is the set modifications, lighting adjustments, camera operators squeezing through tight spaces, and a crew constantly adapting so every angle feels intentional. Sometimes the difference between a good frame and a great one is a dozen tiny decisions happening behind the camera.

The client wanted a natural, gritty commercial that didn’t devalue their branding they’ve already established. That's why @repfitnessequipment wanted these products to live in a real gym environment rather than a studio. Real sweat, real movement, real athletes pushing equipment the way it was designed to be used. Curious where people land on this: when you're watching a product ad and it feels “real”, do you prefer handheld, or perfectly smooth content?

The challenge wasn't filming commercials. The challenge was creating a world that felt unmistakably @ortho_fi without filming in an orthodontist office. Every prop, paint color, wardrobe choice, camera angle, and piece of set dressing had to work together to support that idea. We worked with three paint companies to match the brand colors, built multiple looks within the same soundstage, and carefully planned each setup so we could capture five unique commercials in a single production day. When prep is done right, production moves fast. That's what made this one work.

At first glance, this looks like a simple blue set. In reality, it took weeks of planning, paint tests, prop sourcing, and a crew obsessing over details most people will never notice. @makeupbyjessicathommes_ and @asymmetric_artdept worked through multiple shades and materials to make sure the world felt like OrthoFi without feeling flat. One of our favorite parts of this shoot was watching everyone buy into the bit. Talent, camera, art department, production — all working together to make a completely fabricated world feel real. We ended up creating five commercials in a single day, and somehow still found time to make each one feel like its own thing.

Quick question for the marketers in here: If your brand had a signature color, would you build an entire commercial world around it? For this project, we matched paints, props, wardrobe, set pieces, and graphics to create an environment that felt immediately recognizable as OrthoFi. The funny part is most viewers will never know how much work went into making it feel that simple. What's more memorable to you: showing the real world your customers live in, or building a branded world from scratch?

It’s been a long while since I’ve produced a short film. When Chelsey Schmidt told me about her script, Hotline, I just knew I had to help bring it to life….why? Not sure, but I just felt pulled to do it… I’m happy to say that after filming I’m 💯 % sure I was right. This short is weird, quirky, darkly funny, absurd and touching. The team that came together to breathe life into it made it even better. The patience, passion, fun and talent that they all brought made this weekend fun and rewarding. The true collaboration that happened on set is always inspiring but this crew really bonded together to make every frame magic. If they were struggling with something they asked one another for opinions and then worked it out together. AND sometimes you become a human umbrella for your friends… Thank you to all of you for working with us in Hotline! It’s gonna be a fun one to edit and get out there.
