The 2026 GACH Pancake Fly-In was a huge success! 13 aircraft, nearly 100 attendees, and tons of pancakes! Mahalo to everyone who flew in and drove in. We are so grateful for our volunteers and supporting organizations @georgesaviationservices @pacificflightacademy @whipsawsportfishing. Thanks to @ga.hawaii for hosting Oahu’s first fly-in in over 30 years! A tremendous amount of work went into organizing and hosting this event and it was a beautiful reminder of why community matters. ✈️🌺

General aviation is about more than airplanes, it’s about the people, stories, and friendships that make flying so special.

PFA IS incredibly grateful to be part of Hawai’i’s aviation community and to connect with fellow aviators while inspiring the next generation of pilots. We encourage our students to take advantage of these opportunities and to get involved.

A huge mahalo to GACH! Here’s to building community, supporting one another, and keeping the spirit of general aviation strong here in Hawaiʻi. ❤️

Come join fellow pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and members of Hawaii’s general aviation community for a special Fly-In at Dillingham Airfield (PHDH)!
This is a great opportunity to fly in, meet other members of the aviation community, enjoy the camaraderie, and talk directly with the people working on the future of general aviation in Hawaii.
Special Guests
Tommy Waldman Hawaii General Aviation Officer — Hawaii Department of Transportation
Tommy will be on hand to meet with pilots and airport users, answer questions, hear your concerns, and chat about the issues and opportunities facing general aviation in Hawaii.
We will also be joined by representatives from the FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). This is a great chance to meet with FAA personnel, ask questions, and have an open conversation about flight operations, safety, and general aviation.

🌊 Healing in the waves

We went to Hawaii for Jonah’s 2nd birthday and to celebrate 10 years together. 🌊
Time feels so strange—two years since he was born, and somehow it still feels like both yesterday and forever ago. The ocean held it all: love, ache, peace, and healing. 🐢💙
I felt him there… in the light, in the turtles that drifted by, in the quiet between waves. Losing him will never get easier, but I’m learning to let gratitude lead the way—surrounded by love and the best people.
And somewhere between the shakas 🤙🏽 and the “cheeee hoooos”—I felt it all. ✨🌴

I can’t say that I had envisioned how emotional I could become simply existing amongst my people, doing the things we normally do, but this year at Oshkosh it happened more times that I could count. They are the best people and I am hardly deserving of their time or affection. I was beset upon by small moments of perspective that made me take stock in the enormity of what I have been privileged to be a part of, this thing called “Aviation”.

It revitalized my love for my friends, and the common love we share for this life of flying that we have committed ourselves to. I found myself tearing up so many times, and I’m tearing up now at the memory of it.

Aviation has brought me immeasurable amounts of joy, and purpose, and fellowship, and experiences that I could never have even dreamt of. It continues to do so and it’s my hope that I can use it to do the same for others because it is an existence unlike any other out there.
