Flying planes in Hawaii is pretty rad. But meeting incredible people and sharing in these experiences is what truly makes it special. I wish I had taken more photos with everyone that showed up to our little fly in and made it such a success. It brought me a lot of happiness and joy to see so many wonderful people come hang out. And I’m so thankful for this little plane. Its impact on my life is beyond measure…

This made our day! Love to hear great feedback from the fly-in. This is what it’s all about, bringing aviators together to celebrate and grow our community. A huge mahalo to HNL ATC for getting our large group in and out of Bravo Airspace. #generalaviation #generalaviationcouncilofhawaii #flyhawaii #gach #flyin taken in Honolulu International Airport by @vcm_68

Saturday night laps at Barbers. Working slow approaches and precision landings. Aimed to touch down on the numbers as slow as possible. Landing just as the stall horn comes on is a cool feeling…

Fly, wrench, repeat.
Fixing broken airplanes isn’t so bad when your commute involves flying small planes in a rad place…

Tailwheel, Two Ship departure and formation flying out of the complex HNL Class Bravo airspace. On this flight I was being coached by my good friend and former F-16 pilot @steve.t.harvey on the ABC’s of formation flying, off the wing of our other good friend’s Pitts S-2A. What an absolute privilege it is to learn such skills from true professionals. Always a student.

Life is a one way trip to the grave. And we don’t know when that ride ends. So send it, while you still can.

Flying is fun. Flying with friends is better. This little Citabria continues to teach me so much. And I’m grateful to know people that get stoked about the same things I do. Always a student.

Citabria Sunset.
I have always dreamed of flying cool airplanes in cool places. Hard to believe it’s a reality.
Never give up on yourself or what lights a fire in your soul. We only get one chance at this life. Live it.

“Can you promise that I will come back?
-No. And if you do, you’ll not be the same…”
I think about this exchange between Bilbo and Gandalf often. There is always fear jumping into the unknown. There’s no guarantee it’ll work out. And you might have some close calls along the way. But the journey changes you. And the person you once were inevitably gets left behind as you grow with new experiences. I don’t know what my future holds, but I do know that this mystical place and the things I’ve seen and done here, have profoundly changed me. Change is scary, but a whole new life can be waiting on the other side…#flight #hawaii #aviation #flying #pilot taken in Hawaiian Islands by @vcm_68
