What an incredible day👰🏼🤵🏽10.26.20

This is a long time coming. I wanted to collect my thoughts and reflect before I made this post, and the last week has at the very least given me plenty of time to do that.
Bradley and Magnolia was my home store for four and a half years. Just thinking about that is crazy. By the time I left, I was the oldest partner there. I’d seen so many faces come and go, helped pass the torch to new partners a couple of times myself, and seen all the different ways that one could be a partner. For some, Starbucks is the perfect transitional job, letting them grow enough to pursue their own dreams. For others it’s a comfort, it’s security that allows them to build their own lives. For some it’s temporary, a quick stop as they go along their life’s journey. And others it was a path they dedicated themselves to, moving up the chain and making it their career instead of just a job. For me it was a home. A third place, to use the lingo appropriately. I went there to get energy; physically, emotionally, socially. I knew I could walk in and out, or get work done, or just have someone to talk to.
Some friends made jokes that I was a staple of the store, holding it together. Whether or not that’s true is debatable, but I have pride the fact that I was never stagnant for too long. Each year I was able to be more dependable, more engaging, more understanding. There was always something to improve on, and that’s what allowed me to move on to the roastery. My journey with the Siren hasn’t ended, but I would have never gotten here without an entire mountain of people pushing me along the way. I don’t have a way to thank each and every person I’ve ever worked with, but thank you. For your kindness or patience or even just being there and making my store MINE. But I owe my respect and gratitude to the managers in particular.
Thank you to Amy, @capes02, @mikailasantos, and @verdeuce. Each one of you helped me grow and develop in so many different ways. But beyond that, thank you for being there for me through my ups and downs. For helping me through my hardships and celebrating my successes. My success was built off your support

26 was an amazing year. New dog, new job, new apartment, new adventures. I started teaching Pilates and found a new happiness in my lifestyle and learned to take care of me first. There were so many big moments it’s hard to pick which was my favorite. The biggest being, of course, #bigkayla 🤸🏻‍♀️ here’s to 27!

Today I clocked out for the last time at Mission Gorge and for the last time in San Diego. I have to say, this team is the reason I’m where I am. Every day they pushed me to be the best I could and I couldn’t be more grateful. My shift team through out the years: thank you for always trying to make my visions come to life, even if they were crazy ideas that totally failed. You all made me so proud. Special thanks to @noah.mmorrison You were the one who stuck it out with me. From day one, 3 and a half years of craziness you never left and you always supported me. I am a better leader because of you. I could never thank you enough for never giving up on me, even through all the emotional times! I will truly miss you all! If you ever want to come work in Seattle, look my way!

After hours of learning each day, we didn’t just stop thinking, we challenged and discussed for many more hours. The best teams never stop trying to push each other to greatness. It’s not about being better than everyone else, it’s about being better than you were yesterday and pushing your team to do the same. Inspired by you all! #thejohnmichaelfromworkplace #cantstopperwontstopper #seattle2018 #tobeapartner
