If you knew him, you know. My father loved God, his country, his grandkids, his family, Pink Floyd, his work and time in Hollywood and John Stamos. He was witty, intelligent, had a great sense of humor and could tell a fantastic story. Of all the things people are going to remember about him I’m betting it’s the storytelling that comes out on top. He was a Vietnam vet and while he never spoke about it, he was deeply affected by that time. He had stickers and pins that would remind you he was a vet and damn proud of it. He was fortunate enough to work with some of the greats, Robin Williams (Mork & Mindy), Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Pfeiffer (Edge of Night), Robert Redford, Robert Duvall (The Natural), George Clooney, Anthony Edwards, Noah Wyle, and countless others over the years at ER. My dad was on every season of ER except the first and last. The stories! My kids will remember the stories, the ones that made sense and the ones at the end that didn’t. My father who took care of me for so many years and who we took care of at the end. Life full circle. Believe me when I say you will be missed Pop, Papa, but we will not forget the love and laughs. I know you’re back to your old self, having a glass of wine with Mom, getting much love from your parents and I even bet you’re enjoying a cigarette! My mom called her love home. It’s been a hard couple of days but he was surrounded by loved ones. He lived such a life of service: to his country, in his profession that called for 16-18 hour days, and to his beloved family. He enjoyed trivia, music, movies and a good glass of wine. He loved his grandkids fiercely. He was a pillar of strength for everyone in our family. He served his country in an elite class in the US Army. 82nd Airborne, 1st Cavalry division through the Vietnam War. He will be fondly remembered and truly missed. We love you, Papa. by @verdeuce
