Mad Flowers is out.

Couldn’t have done it without my beloved friend and collaborator @marcusdembinski.wav, who co-produced, mixed, and mastered every track. He also played drums. He’s a genius

@jackkaisermusic played bass, @krafty.boy played guitar, @veronisonic played reeds and winds

@eric.korenman.photography took the photos

My dear sister olivia did the painting behind the photo

It is an album about healing from tragedy, from a myriad of perspectives, some I agree with some I don’t. Much love to those who shared the healing process with me, you know who you are.

Much love to everyone. I hope Mad Flowers finds u well, or on your way to well

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Rose Theater this weekend for "Marsalis and the Masters," the opening concert of our 2026–27 season.

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis brought the music of jazz masters Thelonious Monk, Dave Brubeck, John Coltrane, Chick Corea, and other giants to the stage, with big band arrangements by Wynton Marsalis.

Now, the JLCO is heading back out on tour. First stop is @SFJAZZ on Tuesday, September 22. For the full tour schedule, visit jazz.org/tour.

Last night we opened Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2026–27 season at Rose Theater with “Marsalis and the Masters”.

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra played my big band arrangements of music by Jelly Roll Morton, Thelonious Monk, Bud Powell, Dave Brubeck, Jackie McLean, John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, and Moacir Santos.

My dear friend Wendell Pierce surprised us by coming out to introduce the concert and welcome everyone to the new season. He spoke about this being my final season as Artistic Director and looked back at the dream and vision that led us to start Jazz at Lincoln Center nearly 40 years ago. It meant a lot to hear those words from an old friend.

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the season, playing the music of these great masters with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

We spent the last three days rehearsing for the opening concerts of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2026–27 season, “Marsalis and the Masters.” The program features my big band arrangements of music by some of the great masters of jazz.

Yesterday, during rehearsal, we were also joined by students from the Sant Andreu Jazz Band in Barcelona and their director, Joan Chamorro. During the break, the students spent time with members of the orchestra, asking questions and talking about the music.

Thank you to everyone in the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and to our music librarians Kay Wolff, Christi English, and Erik Larsen, who worked closely with my copyist, Jonathan Kelly, to prepare all of the music for these concerts.
Join us for the live webcast on September 17 at JazzLive.com.
