#meetTMC2026 (11 of 13) - Vandegrift Band and Vision Dance Company of Vandegrift High School from Austin, TX is the next ensemble to highlight in our “Meet TMC 2026” series. Their show is titled “The Persistence of Memory” and they perform in TMC prelims on October 17th at 3:00 pm. In their own words: Inspired by the surrealist philosophy of Salvador Dalí, The Persistence of Memory explores a dreamlike world where perception becomes fluid and reality loosens its hold. The production unfolds through distinct memory states…fragmented impressions, distorted motion, and emotional resonance thus revealing how memory stretches, reshapes, and endures beyond structure and order. Repetition evolves, stillness speaks, and familiar ideas appear in unfamiliar forms. Follow them on Instagram at: @vhs.band vhs_vision @vhs.drumline @vandegrifths #viperband Advance tickets for TMC are available! Save $5 per ticket by purchasing before Oct 17th. Baby Shark brings joy everywhere! 🦈🎺 Today our Uganda Youth Brass Band children decided to play Baby Shark for the younger kids in Namalere, Kagoma. We have no music classroom - just a compound with unfinished buildings. We have only 9 old instruments shared among 50 children learning for FREE. But we have JOY, we have TALENT, and we have HOPE. Watch how the drums and euphoniums make the children dance! This is why we teach music - to bring happiness and keep children in school. We are featured in Drum Corps World Magazine USA Vol.55 No.6 and Official African Partner of Sounds Of Brass Radio UK (SME Winner 2026). Support our 50 kids: https://gogetfunding.com/help-50-ugandan-kids-stay-in-school-through-brass-band-music/ #UgandaYouthBrassBand #BrassForKids #BabySharkBrass

Time to show some love to my OGs! Absolutely LOVING The Persistence of Memory! You guys are already so phenomenal, and you’re just getting started. As a photographer, I LOVE photographing The Viper Band & Vision Dance Co. Y’all move SO fast, and catching those split-second moments—the ones that capture the emotion, energy, movement, and magic—is always a challenge… but the best kind of challenge. And when I nail that shot? It feels like we’re BOTH winning.  I’m SO excited to see the Vision costumes and flags come to life. And I know those babies are only at the beginning of their blinged-out journey, so I can’t wait to watch that transformation continue! Way to work hard, show up, and SHOW OFF! You never let us down, and I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. Love you, VB&VDC, always.
