POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We talk a lot about what we want our businesses to stand for, but the people, culture and spaces we choose to be part of say just as much. Being in spaces where women aren’t just building businesses, but making room for one another to grow along the way. The kind where you can show up, connect, learn something new, contribute what you can, and leave feeling reminded of why community matters.

There’s something super duper extra special about being in a room with women from different walks of life, each bringing their own stories, talents, and perspectives, yet sharing a similar heart. A space where we can connect, learn from one another, and feel seen, heard, and celebrated for the differences that make us who we are.

I’ve had the opportunity to take part in some of these experiences through workshops and a recent photoshoot, and I wanted to give these women my thanks for being exactly them🌿

Laura @pinatapossible for creating spaces that bring women together with absolute intention.
Emma @fiddleleafmarketing for including me to be part of her branding shoot.
Leanne @leannemillermedia for capturing the people and moments that make these experiences authentic.

I invite you to explore various ways you can help create more of these spaces:

* Join an online community and participate, not just observe. Offer your skills, resources, or time when you can.

* Reach out to someone whose work resonates with you.

* Share resources, make introductions, and connect people.

* Make time for local workshops and gatherings that align with your values.

* Participate in online communities, even when in-person is not possible.

As someone building a design business around the values I believe in, I appreciate being part of communities that remind me that why COMMUNITY matters because it’s part of not just what we create but also the journey of HOW we get there. And often more than not it’s because of the village behind us.

More of this, please. 🤍

Stay tuned for a future post of each one in depth.

An incredible extra shoutout to @we.elevate.pnw for creating doors of opportunity and compounding experiences for women in business!

Con amigos en el arte. To say this experience was warm is an absolute understatement.

I owe many thanks to friends @leemorrisonart @magdianamy @pyrographybyluis @grafittero_ with whom this platform connected me to within this past year! It was an absolute honor to finally meet you in the real world ✨

22 artists featured and 75+ art pieces!
September 20, 2024 Reception at Hispanic Heritage Month Art Exhibition 2024 by @elysium.art.collective at Brookwood Library @hillsborolibrary in Hillsboro, Oregon.

The artists’ hearts are in their pieces. The message I got as a whole from this night was art is a way of living and it comes from the heart…it is the heart in action. Art does not come solely from the mind to always make sense and it doesn’t come from the stomach, it comes from the heart. I’m summarizing what I gathered from @huehcaomeyocan message. Beautiful dance and music too!

We are living stories every day. The sharing of those stories comes in so many forms. It aids expression, healing, community, connection, learning and more
I can’t think of anything great in the history books that didn’t come from challenge trials or tribulations.

Reception was a one-time event, once a year. The exhibit and library is open and available to view through the end of October. Please see last photo slide for additional details.

I did not capture every piece but below are some links to find their work. If you see this post and are featured but not tagged feel free to reach out ✨

Collaboration with local web designer to create a vector illustration for a general area map for the @thewaterfrontvancouverusa website.

Highlighted area of interest from the construction of the waterfront is displayed in vector while the rest of the map is more realistic.
