I haven’t uploaded a pole dance video in a while, so here’s a little compilation from the past few weeks. I’m getting a lot stronger, and a little less clumsy! 🤣

I’m finally at a place where I can reliably climb the pole and touch the ceiling if I start with my left arm, but on the last climb in this video I touched the ceiling for the first time starting with my right arm. Yessss!!!

I’ve only been taking classes for a few months, and a little sporadically, but I’ve built so much upper body strength already, it’s pretty wild. No wonder some of the more advanced people at @redefine_fitltd have Michelle Obama arms! #goals

Everyone here is so sweet and supportive; it’s not always the same people, but they’re always ready to cheer you on. It’s a great atmosphere, and the teachers are excellent and encouraging - especially @vitaamin.v! 💜

Here’s the routine we were working on in class today. And I wasn’t recording when it happened, but I managed to climb the pole and touch the ceiling for the first time!

Fifth class!

If you want to be humbled, film yourself doing body rolls and then watch it back, lol. I didnt include them in this edit; your girl’s got some work to do on flexibility, mobility, and grace before those can go on the internet without the risk of death by embarassment.

With these back spins, I want to do them fast but my brain isn’t on board yet. And with the jump-sits, i have to psych myself up for a second before I jump; even though the trick is angles, not strength, I don’t trust that I’ll be able to hold myself up. The physical stuff is easier than the mental part; remembering that my body is generally strong and capable and that i can trust it is going to make a big difference. I really love these classes; when this one was over, i was so amped up that i talked the instructor’s ear off for half an hour (sorry Vina!💜). Today, my biceps, shoulders, abs, and hips are lightly sore, in that good way that comes when you’re pushing yourselff a little.
It feels good.

Fourth pole dancing class! I’m starting to get fireman spins (they’re so much fun!!), i suck at fan kicks. My arms and shoulders are already stronger. I can see myself thinking a lot, but I’m starting to get out of my head and let my body take over.

Feeling surprisingly okay about my legs; I’ve always hated them, and covered them up. Even at my most body positive, I’ve told myself that nature gave me a very solid foundation to stand on, but that’s the best i could say. But in the past few years, I’ve been getting more comfortable with them. And watching these videos, sometimes seeing things from very unflattering angles, I’m still feeling okay about posting them on the internet, even though i knkw what the internet js lkke. I’m trying to love my legs, and I’m not there yet, but I’m on the right path.

Thank you @knix for being the definition of passion, community and inclusivity. This runway was an example of just that, every body type is sooo beautiful in its ability to carry us through life.

Our bodies are our vessels for turning dreams into reality. It holds all the wisdom and answers we will ever need. The female body represents the life force energy, a portal of infinite potential.

It was a blessing to be in a room full such inspirational women. Today, and everyday forward, I choose to unconditionally love my body, for her ability to beat and breath alone is already worth celebrating.

I am blessed ✨
