I walked into this youth retreat with very little expectation.
And somehow, I walked out feeling like the Lord had gently taken my face in His hands and reminded me of everything I had forgotten.
He reminded me that every valley I thought would bury me over these last two years was actually one He carried me through. Every tear, every unanswered prayer, every lonely night, every moment I questioned if I would ever feel joy again…He was there. Even when I couldn’t see His hand, He never removed it from my life.
And for what felt like the first time in a long time, I felt the Lord inviting me to stop only looking at how far I still have to go… and to finally look back at how far He has already brought me.

I think sometimes we’re so focused on becoming who God is calling us to be that we forget to celebrate who His grace has already transformed us into.
I’m genuinely proud of the woman He’s shaping me into not because of anything I’ve done, but because I’ve watched Him redeem places in my life I never thought could be redeemed.
This weekend didn’t just encourage my faith it reignited it.
I’ve never been more excited to be bold about Jesus. I’ve never been more eager to tell people what He’s done in my life. If my story can point even one person toward the hope I’ve found in Him, then every hard season was worth it.

Part of me is sad that summer is coming to an end because it has been filled with memories I’ll treasure forever. But if there’s one thing this retreat reminded me, it’s that the goodness of God never ends with one season. The same God who was faithful yesterday is already preparing the way for tomorrow.
So while I don’t know exactly what this next chapter holds, I know the One who does.

I’ve stood beside hearts
that make compassion look effortless,
faith look steady,
and joy look contagious.

Their beauty is not only in their faces,
though they wear smiles that brighten rooms.
It is in the way they see people,
the way they forgive,
the way they give more than they take.

And if we become
who we walk beside,
then I welcome it.

Let my words grow softer
because theirs are.
Let my faith grow deeper
because theirs does.
Let my character resemble
the company I keep.
