Trust Yoga celebrates Singapore National Day via an outdoor yoga at Fort Canning Park

Early morning while street lights were still on, the group who signed up for outdoor yoga for today made their way to Fort Canning Park. Many got lost in the garden initially, eventually we were able to start on time at 7.30am. Blessed by the weather, it was originally forecasted with 46% chance of rain, it turned out to be a perfect weather.

The lawn was super flat and dry without morning dew. The early hours were breezy. Our youngest participant is not yet 1 year old whereas the eldest is above 60 ( or more?). There are kids and teens joining their parents for this event.

Unified with high energy, everyone put in their best effort for the yoga exercise. It is very inspiring to see all coming in red/white. Choosing yoga as their first priority to celebrate for the country. So what if we have to wake up super early , so what if we have to do exercise under the sun, so what there is no clean floor and we have to wash our mats later, so what if there is potential ants or other insect bite, so what for some of us still need to rush to work later, yoga is our first priority. I salute everyone with great admirations.

We started with an hour of stretching, twisting, bending and balancing , followed by Rhythmic Yoga using “ Stand up for Singapore”. The team did very well with short training. They presented pretty seamless moves, cut right into the beats of the music. I am thankful and highly inspired by the unified energy.

The youngest baby girl has supported in every event while she was still in her mum’s womb, as long as she is in town, she is present.

Little boys told me, please let them know of future such fun events. They want to participate again. So sweet of them.

We chilled out sipping coffee. , eating ice cream or having breakfast after the event. Nice gathering!

Looking forward to the next one. Thank you eveyone

Trust Yoga celebrates Singapore National Day on August 9th, 2026, Sunday at Fort Canning Park.

Dress up in red and white, wearing “Singapore Flag”, “ Singapore Merlion” or “ I love Singapore” facial tattoo, we did a Rhythmic yoga with “ Stand Up for Singapore”. A collective effort exhibiting massive patriotism by all participants.

This marks a very special moment for me and for Trust Yoga. A highly enjoyable, memorable bonding with fellow yogis and yoginis for this special day!

I love Singapore!! Our country, our nation and our people ! ONE heart united together.

2026 International Yoga Day celebration by TRUST YOGA

June 21 is celebrated as the International Day of Yoga because it coincides with the summer solstice, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. In yogic tradition, this date marks the day Adiyogi ( the first yogi) began sharing the knowledge of yoga, symbolizing a transition to spiritual awakening and light.

21 June occurs near the middle of the year and brings favorable weather to many parts of the world, it provides a convenient time for people globally to gather and practice outdoors.

This year IDY falls on a Sunday. We presume smooth celebration with outdoor and indoor yoga sessions.

Life is full of surprises! From Rafle Range Nature Park, our plan shifted to Bukit Batok Nature Park, Japanese Garden Resthouse. Eventually , we held our celebration at Singapore Botanical Garden. Weather forecast was 100% rain, but we were so blessed with sunlight during the outdoor yoga session.

Yoga supports stress management, mental health, mindfulness, healthy eating, weight loss and quality sleep. No one fears the sunlight, the dew on the lawn, ants coming onto our mats, we put in full focus and effort into our practice.

I thank all participants who signed up, waitlisted and those who participated, sharing great vibes and friendship despite the rocky preparation journey.

This one is for the ages! And guess what: I did a back lever to candle stick on this last class at @aerialandfloor with @chariteechenqii

I think it was back in 2023 when I started Calisthenics. I was afraid of the rings, couldn’t even hang for a second, L-sits were a dream goal, pull up was a mission, and that’s when @vickyhandstand took me to Charity’s class. And she was the one who gave me the ropes to come so far out! Tuesday evenings were spent with the gentle nudges and slow motions of the calisthenics artist that she is!

So, today one last time, I took to the rings under the same roof, till we find another space, another time, another galaxy to come and train together!

Till then.
