Behind the scenes at ‘The Skin Keeps Score: Navigating Stress, Hormones and Nutrition’ at Annabel’s Mayfair with aesthetic doctor and founder of The Lovely Clinic, Dr Sarah Tonks; integrative hormone expert, Dr Sohère Roked; and clinical nutritional therapist, Lorna Driver-Davies.

Together, we explored the relationship between our internal landscape and what shows up on the surface - from the breakouts that flare in a stressful week and the dullness that follows sleepless nights, to the hormonal shifts that shape collagen, congestion and skin sensitivity across every chapter of life.

From regenerative treatments and targeted supplementation that repair at a cellular level, to hormone balancing, gut health and the breathwork practices that calm the system at its source, we examined what it truly means to support the skin from the inside out.

The goal? To learn to read what our skin is telling us - and take back control, from the inside out.

Together, we explored what our skin is truly telling us, from how cortisol weakens the barrier and fluctuating hormones shape everything from collagen to congestion, to the nutritional interventions, in-clinic technologies and mindfulness practices that address the root cause.

Behind the scenes at ‘Nothing is Filtered: Where Skin and Self-Esteem Collide’ at Soho House White City with aesthetic doctors Dr Yusra Al-Mukhtar @dryusra.almukhtar and plastic surgeon Mr Paul Tulley @drpaul.tulley
, sophrologist Dominique Antiglio @besophrolondon.

What made this one feel different was the willingness to hold two truths at once. That a treatment can be a genuine, considered act of self-care, and that the same treatment can be chasing something a filter invented. The panel talked about consultation as a psychological conversation as much as a clinical one, about the questions practitioners should be asking before anyone picks up a needle, and about what it means to arrive at a decision from steadiness rather than scrutiny. Marking Mental Health Awareness Month, it felt right to let the clinical and the psychological sit in the same room and actually speak to one another.

The goal? To open up what lies beneath the surface-level concern. The aspiration is a community that talks about skin with far more honesty than the algorithm allows.

More to come on the grid this week, including a look inside the room... 👀

Here's to our panel from 'Nothing is Filtered: Where Skin and Self-Esteem Collide' at Soho House White City, with aesthetic doctor, Dr Yusra Al-Mukhtar @dryusra.almukhtar; plastic surgeon, Mr Paul Tulley @drpaul.tulley; and sophrologist, Dominique Antiglio @besophrolondon.

The conversation sat in the space between the reflection and the feeling, asking how we care for our complexion without that care quietly becoming self-criticism. Yusra and Paul spoke candidly about the treatments now available for the concerns that shape how we see ourselves, and where a good practitioner should say no. Dominique brought the work that happens away from the mirror, the resilience and self-trust that no treatment plan can supply.

The goal? To give our members honest guidance on skin, minds and motivations. The outcome, we hope, is a room of people who feel more at ease in their own skin, on their own terms.

September was a busy one for Totally Derma®.

A month filled with events, conversations, new audiences and plenty of moments worth looking back on.

HOS brought the practitioner community together, Asiana Bridal Luxe introduced Totally Derma® to a new setting, and the TWIQK Talk podcast opened up another conversation around skin health, collagen and healthy ageing.

Alongside the exhibitions, product moments and industry conversations, there were a few more personal snapshots too.

September set the pace - and there’s much more ahead

A few highlights from the Health Optimisation Summit 2026.

Three days of conversations around longevity, nutrition, performance and healthier ageing and a brilliant opportunity to share the science behind Totally Derma® with practitioners, partners and new faces.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, shared their experience and took the time to learn more about the formulation.

Events like this are a reminder of how much the conversation around healthy ageing is evolving and how important evidence-led, inside-out support continues to be within it.

Until next time.
