The Huntsman Lounge 🦌 A little behind the scenes from The Enchanted Wood, a Snow White inspired editorial by SENSE. I wanted to explore storytelling through this editorial. I kept asking myself, “How can I turn Snow White into a fashion editorial?” So I took inspiration from different moments throughout the fairytale, creating spaces that each represented a different part of the story. The lounge was inspired by The Huntsman. Using taxidermy deer, rich cobalt-blue velvet, and vintage furnishings, we created a luxurious setting that subtly referenced his role in the fairytale. Experience, collaboration, production, SCALE. I want to say that I had “NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING,” but honestly, I’ve been in events long enough to know the basics. I’ve seen how things are installed, I ask people questions about things I don’t know, and I enjoy learning all of the aspects of design. Sometimes that means learning that if you don’t buy all of a fabric at one time, you might not be able to get more of it because fabrics are produced in dye lots. So it can be hard to get the exact same color quickly. It can also mean learning how to rig a 20-foot satin backdrop in between two trees in the forest and having to climb up into a tree to install it. Honestly, learning those aspects of producing gets me excited to learn more! This project, produced by @sensechamber, focused on scale and color contrast. The royal blue satin backdrop against a dense and lush green forest. And how scale can make something look larger than life. #enchantedforestwedding #eventdesign #creativedirector

So, what is SENSE? SENSE is an exploration of how our senses shape our memories, the way we experience the world, and the things we create. I’ve always been fascinated by this. The taste of something incredible that I can’t stop thinking about. A familiar scent that takes me back to my grandparents’ house. The feel of a flower that reminds me of a particular place. The sound of a creek that transports me back to fishing in Yosemite. It’s incredible how something so small can bring an entire memory back to life. I believe these experiences are worth investigating. The places we visit, the people we meet, the art we discover, and the little details that make us feel something. Through SENSE, we’ll explore those moments together and discover how they can become inspiration for something entirely new. Because the world is endlessly fascinating, and exploring it together is a lot more fun. There’s always more than meets the eye. Welcome to SENSE.

It didn’t go as planned….. A LAKESIDE ODYSSEY - SEATING CHART Sometimes you have to pivot. The wind kept messing with my original vision but, once I embraced it, the seating chart came alive. This seating chart felt organic, it felt immersive and it did its job. It accomplished a feeling. Movement. We are firm believers that every space you walk into should have MOVEMENT. Whether it be a fountain, flowing drapery, a disco ball or an aerialist. Movement creates energy and energy is what we feel. With this seating chart we wanted it NOT to be perfect. We aimed for a feeling and not a look. The feeling we wanted people to feel is that they stumbled upon uneven sails appearing as if they fell into place instead of being carefully placed in the trees. When the wind caught the sails they looked like they were flying. It was natural, they were sculptural and most importantly they were not perfect. Too many people aim for perfection. The real perfection sits in the organic movement that makes someone feel something. We had the pleasure of collaborating with @rachell_rae_designs on our Odyssey #invitationsuite and it really hit the mark. This is the first thing a guest sees that tells them the information about your event but more importantly it sets the tone. We asked Rachell to tell us a bit about our design for this suit. Here is what she had to say: “The suite is printed on handmade white cotton paper with organic deckled edges, which gives it an old-world, tactile quality that felt beautifully connected to the Odyssey inspiration without becoming overly literal or themed. The typography absolutely contributes to that influence, with bold, sculptural letterforms that subtly reference classical Greek typography while still feeling modern and romantic. We also incorporated a subtle wave detail, nodding to the sea and the idea of a journey, while the restrained palette and handmade texture keep the overall design elevated and timeless. The goal was really to capture the feeling of an odyssey through movement, texture, and typography rather than relying on obvious Greek motifs.”
