It’s our last MISSION MAY Wednesday here at Rebuild Fellowship, and we’re intentionally praying for organizations making a real impact throughout our community.

This week's focus is on STUDENT EMPOWERMENT & EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE 📚✨

Join us in prayer by covering organizations that are investing in the next generation through education, mentorship, leadership development, scholarships, and the arts.

Join us in praying for:

@studentudurham — Empowering Students Through Education, Mentorship & College Access
@villageofwisdom — Supporting Black Families & Students Through Advocacy, Education & Cultural Empowerment
@ialigndance — Empowering Young People Through Dance, Storytelling & Creative Arts Education

Pray for wisdom, provision, creativity, protection, and continued impact over every leader, educator, mentor, student, and family connected to these organizations.

“Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” — 1 Timothy 4:12

So grateful to @villageofwisdom for their continued leadership in creating and nurturing and sustaining spaces that uplift and honor and protect Black Genius. We had a great time on Saturday offering the community our Scented Storytime. (Big up to Angel, Pam, Angel’s dad and Dariel for their amazing team work pulling the booth together!). The sun was shining and so were the beaming faces of the families who joined us! 🖤📚

Black Genius Fest through a Black SEL lens 🖤

Our Student Advocates didn’t just participate. They led.

They guided community members through our Feelings Wheel.
They held space at the Affirmation Station.
They shared Black SEL resources with families, students, and the community.

And this experience was visioned by our ReSELient Creative Director, Damaris, whose intentional design turned our exhibit into a space for reflection, joy, and emotional connection.

This is what it looks like when youth leadership meets visionary creative direction.
When healing tools are placed directly in the hands of community.

Black genius is emotional literacy.
It’s strategy.
It’s care in action.

So proud of our team.

Black Genius Fest was nothing short of electric. Living in Durham and witnessing Black Genius elevated on stage, alive in the exhibits, and honored in every detail felt powerful, intentional, and deeply rooted. There’s something sacred about seeing our brilliance centered like that.

We have something special here. Our Blackness isn’t just resilience, it’s innovation, artistry, intellect, rhythm, and vision. It creates space. It builds rooms. It opens doors. I truly believe our Blackness will always make room for us.

And what @villageofwisdom is building goes far beyond a single festival. They are nurturing ecosystems where Black children are affirmed, where families are equipped, and where our genius is not only celebrated, it is protected and cultivated. That kind of work shifts culture. It shapes futures. It reminds us that our brilliance has always been here, and when we invest in it together, there is no limit to what can grow.
